Glad youre enjoying the trip! Ive learned when I was a kid, I always used rugged sandals on beach or boat trips or at least beach or wetshoes. Ive used them on trips from the sea to mountain hiking and theyre really easy to pack, slightly less comfy than flipflops but they wont break or fall off and its Easier to walk everywhere and you dont need to fear stepping on crabs or seaurchins or sharp rocks. I've learned to swim with them on as well even on our trips to balicasag and moal boal(beautiful snorkelling spot with very clear water and colorful corals and fishes in cebu). There are many freedivers in the area too.

When the weather is better, you should visit camiguin island in northern mindanao. The strait crossing will give you glimpses of pilot whales swimming beside the ferry on morning trips. Will make your jaw drop.
