Imagine being in Whitney's shoes, knowing you have this problem and the world watching. No one offering a helping hand in the media, just wanting to know every little detail of her drug problems. It’s tragic that the media had zero mercy on her. They called her a crack head, strung out, too skinny, lost her voice, everything BUT gave her empathy, concern, and space to deal with her demons. I wonder, if a bit more kindness and support would have saved her. It’s interesting that very current artists are going through the same thing and are labeled hero’s, brave, resilient, and progressive for putting their problems in the forefront. Whitney was simply not treated with any kindness from the public or media. This interview is great proof of prying as opposed to sincere concern.

I totally agree, I do believe she wasn’t high in this interview, I believe she was fed the fuck up, with everything and everyone and was actually asking for help without asking for help if that makes any sense. I do believe marrying Bobby Brown WAS her biggest mistake, and EVERYONE told her that even her mangers, her parents, her best friend Robyn even that evil Clive Davis but Whitney was a grown woman and did what she wanted to do. There were just to many red flags 🚩 and she knew it, I think she married him to stop those lesbian rumors to be honest, and then she learned to love him. Remember they had a long distance relationship and then all of a sudden he asked her to marry him after telling her he got his child mothers pregnant again. Damn I miss this woman, but she left us ALL with her music that WILL NEVER EVER GO OUT STYLE. This might sound kind of messed up, but it’s not. I’m glad she isn’t here anymore even if us her fans miss her. Reason being a lot of people used and abused her family, so called press, I mean they beat this woman down when she was already down, trying to lift herself back up. Her record company should have did more to help her, but they didn’t they worked her just like her family did like she was robot. Then told her she couldn’t live in her truth, she was bisexual and she was in love with Robyn. The evil family of her’s and Bobby Brown pushed and forced Robyn out of her life which was there and Whitney’s biggest mistake, Robyn was the only one who had Whitney’s best interest at heart and tried to get her help and even told her mother and they did NOTHING cause she was the money train.

I remember when this interview originally aired and it was all the talk, her comment “crack is whack”. Diane and her sideways look, she is an interrogator, not an interviewer. Whitney looks so guarded and no wonder. A stark contrast between when Oprah interviewed her years later. This interview makes me sad, Whitney needed compassion and some guidance. Maybe she’d still be here today.

Whitney had nothing else to prove she already established her talent and is known for her voice … No one can do what she did .. her voice was a gift from God and she knew that .. she may have made bad choices and got into drugs and it broke our heart to lose her but I think people who were expecting too much of her should have taken into account that she was human … and her voice was one of the best of all time … all time… when you say Whitney Houston people know who she is and her voice … all over the world … what else is there to prove ? She did what she set out to do and just because she got into the wrong things and was not perfect does not take away from her talent ever … I think she had the best voice of all time and I don’t think any one will ever be able to match her … her voice was special and truly from God …

It is. I guess the only positive thing is that Whitney passed before her daughter. Both deaths were so terrible but I can't imagine how Whitney would have taken her daughters death. They are together now.
@kimberluna22262 жыл бұрын
Her daughter was the only positive thing going that wasnt complicated, they needed each other, regardless of Whitney's addictions & demons,, your family you don't abandon each other, your family may have helped create the problems, but her daughter didn't cause them, first loves, young inexperienced, extreme wealth, the leeches start showing up, sad that Whitney and her daughter couldn't have escaped to a private place to get good help and relief. She not only got addicted to drugs but was a victim of domestic violence, where was Whitney's support team? Where's someone other than Bobby Kristina who was there for Whitney? The toxicity of poor family relationships brought Whitney's death on, as well as Bobby Kristina s. The poor girl was famed to live up to other people's expectations... & didn't have a chance to be herself, get some space, heal, gather up her courage to be whom she needed to be for her daughter, she was hounded and hunted like a dog. No respect ..people around her should be ashamed, Bobby taught her that and much more, people in her circle used her, cause she had a heart and a talent they found a way to destroy her physocologically/ mentally .. those people were rooted in greed .. arrogance, pushing her, extremely sad and very tragic. Forget rest in peace, bless her soul, she deserved so much more in life, and she gave it all to us, Today, we as society need to give more to others, our partners, than take, reprocitity is learned, taught, led by examples,,, parents teach your children well.. .it's sad that the media profits on such deaths.. .

The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you.

In a time now when people are more accepting I think that people would view her differently if she was still alive today. Would have been great if she could have beaten her addiction and be a spoke-person against drug use, because people could learn a lot from her life and also the things that she had been through. The world treated her very wrongfully. Trying to take her down and taking everything that she had worked so hard for away from her. I love Whitney Houston and her music. Nobody is perfect in life the perfect spirit is king Jesus and Whitney is with king Jesus and child so don't think Jesus won't call you home too heaven because he will GOD is the real judge rich or poor we all on earth will we cannot get by GOD If you can help somebody while you are well ❤❤❤

When Whitney says “what does hitting mean?” you can tell she’s lying. Whitney, you know what “hitting “ means girl. 😑 She also plays with her hair when she says “ no he’s never hit me”. That’s a nervous thing that people do when they are lying. Bobby plays with his ear when he says he would never raise his hand to a woman. 🥴

Damn, I was gonna say that. Also, notice how when Diane asks, “what about other drugs?,” Whitney looks at Bobby and shakes her head as he says “no.” I wish she would have come to terms with the fact that she was an addict and needed help.

How about right then, Bobby tugged on his ear. I mean... that’s a tell that’s so obvious it’s cliche... I didn’t really think people DID that...

Exactly! She was lying- I mean he was sitting there, of course she couldn't say the truth like ,yea, he is hitting me at home'...

Bobby lied too! Notice how he grabbed his ear when he said that he'd never hit her??? They were both lying.

I still find it crazy how it all ended for her. She deserved better. So incredibly talented. I miss her.

The media destroyed whatever hope and faith she had left. My heart hurts for the pressure everyone put on her to be perfect and if she didn't meet their godly expectations they tore her down and BULLIED HER.

Nippy was SO beautiful. Even here. She looks so lovely. I miss her. I miss her humor, and I miss seeing her smile. The world got to see a much more real Whitney starting in the late 90s onward. Even though she was in active addiction the majority of that time, it was an honor to better get to know this icon as a woman, a regular person with supernatural talent. I actually loved her in the Bobby Brown reality show. She was funny as hell! She was honest and so confident. I hate that addiction and Pat Houston took her away from the world, but I am thankful Whitney is no longer suffering. ❤
