People are too focused on "the vtuber" title so they avoid it like plague and think its boring, while actually they're just regular streamer with anime profile pic, if you can't relate with the content/game they play of course you would find it boring.. Just treat vtubers like normal streamer and find content you like, that way its more easier to understand why watching vtubers is fun thing..

Like you say, they're just regular streamers with an anime pfp, there's not a whole lot more going on other than puppetry and most of the performances are rather lacklustre. The last interesting VTuber I saw was Shoga.

The Vtuber community got a lot worse after Hololive EN formed. It went mainstream, tons of amateurs showed up, and in social media and comments sections a lot of problem people show up. The plus side is that people like Kson and Henya were able to easily bounce back after stupid business decisions caused them to lose their profiles.
