It is honestly just for apple as a company to gain profit. There are no benefis to the consumer as it cannot be upgraded/swapped out.

Upgrading storage on ANY other laptop is nothing complicated at all. Zero. just a few screws. Not with Apple though. They make it "hard", or least not Userfriendly.

If anyone needs an M2 a2338 motherboard for parts with a good 256 GB SSD, WIFI chip, charging controller chip, M2 CPU, let me know. I have a donor board sitting right next to me. I was thinking of taking the SSD from this Apple M2 donor board, and upgrading another a2338 M2 board to 512 GB of storage, but I'm not sure yet.

yes u can upgrade the ram via soldering bigger ram chips, however they need to be supported by a existing ram config in the Firmware and u have to set the right resister config which u will find in the Logicboard's Schematics , otherwise if ur ram size has never shipped in the macbook model u have to make sure the CPU supports it (u can check in intel ark what max ram size ur cpu supports) and then u have to modify the Firmware and add the rams SPD data.
