I hook the top speakers up in parallel. I have one amp for the top cabinets and another for the subs. The top amp is an old Peavy CS800. This amp is old but built like a tank and I have NEVER had any problems with it. The Sub amp is a Crown XS 900 which is also a pretty solid amp.

awesome setup, I've been contemplating adding in a second set of FOH speakers but I find my 15' passive Mackies seem to handle most of the bigger jobs really well on their own and for the smaller ones my 15' thumps. time for a question…. How long did the setup actually take you to complete?
@2TurntablesAndAGuy14 жыл бұрын
@SWATPhantom I personally love my sonic speakers. They are well made and I have never had any issues with them. The top cabs I am using now have been in use since the mid 90's with no issues.

@M1cha91 The monitors are used as preview monitors. They are connected to the DVJs so I can preview the videos, select stored cue points, etc.

Hey, nice setup, but what's wrong with some parcans? I mean, everybody says to me parcans are the basic of light effects, start whit some parcans en buy then some effects. The reason is that you can't create enough light with only some effects. And when I'm partying, I hate it when I can't see my friends (OK, it must be dark, but not that dark). Another question I had: why did'nt you use that nice stage behind you to stay on? I think your gear would be safer, becouse people can't touch it then.

do u like not raise the lighting stand?
@bandit01233913 жыл бұрын
question... why do you make it so the students can barely see you? Every other school dj i know makes him/her self as visible as possible so that they can MC and stuff. You should raise that front truss a bit and lower the black drape! :D

Good job and I can't believe you do all the set up by yourself. That's more cash to keep.
@2TurntablesAndAGuy14 жыл бұрын
Normally I would put the blacklights up but the one I was using was very heavy. The good news is it is also pretty solid and could survive a good kicking. The screens are not part of the DVJs. They are part of custom cases I built.

@noah1970 Because the stage is hollow, the bass will resonate and you'll get unwanted sound issues.
@guyhermanson30025 жыл бұрын
The subs could be on the floor but the DJ should be on the stage unless he wants to interact with the crowd. Then being on the floor works best.

@adidasgear I would definitely recommend them. They are built solid and I have had no issues with mine.
@onesixtyofficial12 жыл бұрын
why don't u buy some real truss with crank up stands so the lights are higher up so they don't shine into peoples eyes and you don't have to hide behind them, how can u interact with the crowd wen they cant see you? and buy some static lights so the gym doesn't look like a dark cave, this setup doesnt show much class imo... but i have to say the screen and dvj's look pretty cool
@darrinlavigne35319 жыл бұрын

@loudsubz13 жыл бұрын
great light show. Your sub setup is not ideal though. They should be clustered, corner loaded or if you want to spread them apart you need to have a great distance between them. The short distance between them is setting you back.

nice setup--although I would upgrade those speaker to more high end like JBL or Mackie. I'm a pro mobile/club DJ and also the sound engineer for my church--our church used to have those sonic speakers and were no good --really weak
