i like the fact that you built a compact system and didnt loose any quality. alot of times when people go smaller they buy junk or sacrifice quality. looks great brian!

Great choice for DJ mixer. I do have a DJM 850 as well. I love it. There wasn't a need for DJM 900 because we are not connecting 4 CDJs or let alone 2.

Nicely done Bryan! I hope your recovery progresses to a point that all of this becomes a convenient luxury instead of a necessity.

I love what you have come up with for your micro system. the microphone mount is a beautiful idea but I think the wireless on the back of the laptop stand is ingenious! Better, stronger and wiser, keep it rocking Mr. Brian S. Redd!

I am starting the weight reduction battle on my sound and lighting system. It tips the scale at close to half a ton now. I am going to start by replacing two 36 pound amps with 14 pounders that put out 2,300 more watts. My 26 pound amp will be replaced with one that weights only 9 pounds and delivers the same amout of power. My late 90's amps have been bullet proof over the years but weight a ton.

Brilliant video! I too have physical limitations and have recently moved to active speakers and all led lighting which has scaled down my set up a good bit while actually improving quality!. Always looking to improve though. Cheeers

I would imagine it just works better. A small powered sub on medical grade casters would help the lows as needed though. I have both small speakers and the 15x2 are still heavy and hard to move with the internal casters without using both hands. They also can also get lost with a larger crowd because, as he mentioned of the Bose, the horns are firing into and not above the crowd.

great video, i was thinking about the bose system exactly the same time you mentioned it, it could work but it seems like your sound set up is perfect for what you need.

I've recently got back into the DJing gig and have opted for a LD Systems Dave 8 and a JogVision for a mobile system that can be setup/broken down quickly.

Really needed to see this video, I have 15” mains and a 15” sub woofer (Mackie ThumpsXT) but need to make my set up smaller but still pack a punch for weddings and events I do and for it to fit better in my 2020 Kia Soul. It all fits with my decade booth, cart, two back packs of cables, Stands, FLX10 controller. But looking for either 10”or 12” mains to give more space.

Great Video.. Size became an issue, my main line of thinking was smaller is better. As Brain just said = not always the case. I came up with the same conclusion: "small but effective". Brain i like some of the modifications you put on the equipment. Set ups are mostly how much "time you can shave off" the set up and breakdown. If you can set up/break down with in 15-30 min = GREAT

Hey Brian, I really like your way of thinking. And not only because your disable. I try to find salutions in compact P.A. Audio systems. For my self I use HK Audio Lucas XT with a Alesis Multimix and BBE Sonic Maximizer. For my father I found a ever smaller P.A. The Lucas NANO 300. Look it up, and try it. I think you will be amazed about the sound, size and weight. Greetings and succes from Edgar ( The Netherlands)

I finally made my Compact micro system. I'm using two K8's and one KW181. I just have to have that low end. lol. I got rid of my big mixer board and got a MC6000MK2 in a flight case.

We are moving towards MultiOp and are looking to build a compact system for me to use. I have issues with one of my shoulders where I can't lift heavy objects over my head.

@DJChuckymadness0912 жыл бұрын
Brian - do you run a mixing board and maximizer at all, or do you stick with your midi controller and powered speaker set up? I've been wondering if I should buy those extra components or if they're actually needed if I'm only using a dj controller and 12" PA's and a sub for most gigs.

DJM-850 is a very good choice for you. My advice and my choice would be adding 2 Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2's to your setup instead of using mouse. It's compact and easy to use with one hand. Sorry to hear a DJ to have such problems that you have. Hope you get OK soon bro. :D
