First time seeing Daut play with Viper although I'm sure it's happened a lot. It's early 2021 and I'm just getting back into the game from my childhood that I never understood... at all. Viper, Good luck with the surgery. I had that done and it was second worst pain I have been in, in my life (43). Recommend having some kind of reclining chair to sleep in. Keep the pain killers going even when you think you don't need them. When the pain returns it does so with a vengenance! BTW I have been stabbed by large pieces of metal and had fish hooks in my hand. Those came no where close!

Funny game, but I have a serious question: is trade usually started earlier on black forest compared to other maps? I guess I thought trade was usually added late castle or early imperial and that other sources of gold are more efficient early on. I'm only 1200 DE ELO though, so I probably have some misconceptions. Can anyone educate me on this issue?

early trade is a bit of a meme but viper has used it successfully before. It can allow you to move villagers onto other resources meaning better villager boom, but it isn't worth it in a resource count and it isn't worth it if you haven't built walls. Viper usually suggests building it on the earlier side as even before they are worth it they take time to build up in numbers and you want to hit peak trade right when they are worth it. Not in feudal though, I think it is from him saying it is never too early to trade before, showing he can still win xD Funnily enough it actually helped them early on that the scouts were chasing trade carts at a time their food eco was so vulnerable which at that point was worth more. Could have been game over rather than just cripplingly expensive. Not as much as a wall or defensive units might have of course.

Bombard cannons should one shot whatever is walking on two legs. It's ridiculous that a monka can stand after taking a cannonball to the face. In AoE3, cannons absolutely devastate infantry, as it should.
