You know what I like about Samurai Revolution? Well there’s a lot of things but for me the biggest one is that his content doesn’t change based on what games are popular. He uploads what he loves to play and even though AOEIII is a small community and aren’t going to give him huge amounts of subs, he does not care and uploads regularly for us. I fear I was the angel of death: Every time I said a team was looking good, they were the next to die. First up was Green/Teal, then Pink/Purple, and I figured that Red and Blue had the sheer eco to be able to endure and deflect the Russia/Spanish wollup. Incredible battles going on, and man was Orange/Yellow impressive, 3/3 knockouts!!!

yep. I just think red could have done more in terms of expansion and army composition (if he went just goons and organ guns) china wouldnt have had to depend on artillery (the flamethrowers weren't doing much late game) as much and could have built a great fortification to advance. Likewise.. Orange was also slacking but overall did well following the Russian pressure into Blue. I feel blue carried this nicely late game

That was pretty intense. Great commentary as always! Looking forward to see the other matches. One thing I noticed in late game FFA is the melee cavalry just stand around and don't attack sometimes which can be annoying. I'm hoping that the melee units don't day dream in DE :-)

nah. russia is strong but in general they don't trade well in late game fighting because their units are so weak. opris are one of the ways they can hold their own vs more powerful head-on civs.

They might be annoying but if you are aware of them they die easy like here, the couldnt get in on red base at all but was a good distraction.

@@libni94 yea it's quite powerful. even if they all die, they distract a big part of your army which now has to either be deleted or run back slowly to the front line

I just saw the trailer for the new aoe3 release... idk its the same like strong hold 2 upgrade few years ago... I just dont feel that graphics upgrade with slight changes of having the 360 view available. They should have done it like with AOE II, just make higher resolution with slight adjustments but leave the game angle + interface :) and instead work on making new houses, better carddecks, new units, maybe some new civilzations + maps like in the expansion of AOE2 (conquerors) ... so yeah what do you think?

They didn't have spies at the time so they couldn't have known they were occupied. It's also an FFA tournament, there is no honor.

@@therealdonut45 Yes, I imagine trying to balance a game like AoE3 is a game designers biggest nightmare. Especially with the Inca and Swedes coming out with DE. I suppose you're right about Russia being rather weak if Opris were nerfed. On the plus side they can insta-train musks and halbs, not to mention build 3 forts. Also I feel the Cossack unit gets neglected a lot, would be cool to see more of them in play.

Looking at this after 3 years ..I totally support banning Opri.. players will be losing but once no other ideas and they seem losing they just use that opri raid..I mean that opri raid to China & Dutch base was just mean... and yellow if only made some art instead of all the musk spam this would've ended sooner..
