Put a new plug in it, tested positive for spark. It has a leaking/cracked gas tank so I snagged the one off a free 06 yz250, fresh gas and the free 04 is dead no more! 3rd kick and she is good to go. Scribe the crank slabs 90 deg from the rod pin before you start to give you a good guide as you reassemble. Question: Have you ever restored a project back to original brand new condition? It's not nearly as easy as people may think. Depending on its condition, anything that's even remotely worn gets tossed and replaced. Rarely do you use original parts except things like the engine and the frame, which can be brought back to original condition with the help of things like a sandblaster and a good quality welder. Of course, if either is damaged to the point that making it like brand new is impossible it'll get tossed too. It's a painstaking process that could end up taking much longer to complete than you would think.

@@kennethgray2504 As if you have any clue how he runs his business. I'd bet his business is doing quite well, as if you go back and look through his catalog, he often finds bikes that need very little money and require mostly labor. With the amount of views his channel gets and the frequency of uploads he is making decent money from ads alone. In his niche the CPM is decent so there is no down side to buying and fixing the occasional money pit bike. He's making decent money from views alone, let alone the money from flipping bikes. And, 100k views could very well be $300-700 (or more) in his pocket which alone would pay to fix most bikes.

Don't bet you would lose. And I would hate to see a fool lose their money. You have stated no facts only guessing.

That guy that sold it to you, is sitting in the lazy boy chair, eating popcorn and watching you struggle. He wanted you have it Joe. That's sucks.

Now that is going to take a lot of work!

Poor Joe at the very beginning was like can we just get an easy one that we can RIDE today? I just want to ride one - I guess rather than tearing the entire thing down.. no, no Joe.. there are NO free lunches any more.. you've bought up all the halfway not so bad bikes in your area. Oh man.. let's see how this one goes!!

Well with all the bikes that could have been used for parts. You could have had a good stator and crank. Lol always like watching your videos very informative and interesting.

I used to use those pistons all the time when I was a young bull on a budget and never had issues with them.
