2WD Tacoma - Lytle Creek OHV Trail via Sheep Creek Truck Trail

We decided to take the afternoon and explore this side of the 15 freeway for a change. This trail was rated easy and it definitely was. This trail is definitely easy for 2WD to do, the Lytle Creek OHV trail connect via the Sheep Creek Truck Trail. Beside a few turn outs that we saw, there's not really all that much to the trail. Gobbler's Knob was a cool little side road that takes you to see some of the peaks in SoCal, besides that it's just a good fire road with some beautiful sceneries and wildflowers. It's a good beginner trail to go out and have some fun time with friends and family. #lytlecreekohvtrail #socalohvtrail #2wdohvtrail

I think so...however right now it might be icy or have snow. Heard it was kinda sketchy with ice, so safe. But summer time, it's super easy trail.

I think it should be fine, there's enough room in some section to pull over. Im actually in a few FB off roading group, however with covid, I've been hesitating to meet up with large crowd. These friends that I've traveled with I know them personally.

Attempted this trail today and almost got stuck in snow and ice. I dont recommend anyone try this trail when snow is still present as even 4wd is slipping downhill on ice. I have a sr5 tacoma 2wd and barely made it on this trail, there was a 4runner with 4wd behind me and couldnt believe I made it down this path as he got spooked on the ice. I will remember this experience for the rest of my life LOL.

Not sure the exact exit, but on Alltrail there should be a direction. It's around 14miles, not too crazy of a trail.

Yea, it's pretty easy trail to follow and gobblers knob there's a sign directing you to it.

Not trying to be rude but genuinely curious, why lift and get off road tires on a 2wd truck? Did you just get into off roading after you had already got it? Are you planning on installing a transfer case to it?

Yea, I got it for work and camping. Didn't think I would get into off roading. Already looking into getting another one end of this year.

Also do you think it still handle decent with a rooftop tent for the 4x2? I mean like weekend trips and stuff. I’m stuck on this or the new bronco, but worked at Toyota for awhile and have more knowledge on the internals/maintenance

@@cameroneagleson9314 I personally think it's fine. I've had this truck for 4 years now and almost 90,000 and yet to do any major repairs. I usually have around a few hundred lbs of equipment for work on the back everyday, so I also upgraded my leaf pack in the back to heavy duty. It's heavier now but can take the payload way better than stock. I've yet to have issue with it. However, I do like the Bronco as well haha
