I have been blamed for years for my body, since I was a pre-teen. For being too V-shaped, too muscular (especially during my years as a swimmer and then a kickboxer) and when I quoted names of famous athletes looking like me the reply was:"They are professionals. They are supposed to look like that. U are not. U are an ordinary female, u are no athlete, so don't be like that cause it's horrible.". There was a time I stopped and tried to fit the roles I was given without succeeding. It was the worst time of my life, and the one that scarred me forever. I am a crossfitter nowadays and after two years of training I'm getting back that muscular athletic version of me. And I won't stop. I'm finally happy to be in the right place and to be looked at as an example of hard work and dedication. There are still people out there bodyshaming me but I'm confident enough now to know what I want from my body. Don't worry Katrin. People will always always find something in u to complain about but your opinion is what matters.

@Chaos Burrito that's good, u need to believe in yourself first. I can tell u, by experience, that when things go wrong is often because u started with the wrong mind set. If u believe u can run those miles, if u really believe, your body will answer.

@I'lleatyou I just recognized myself in what Katrin was saying about herself and I decided to share my experience because back then I was apparently alone, the only one with these issues, and I thought I was made in a wrong way. But I was not made badly, and I was not the only one. Luckily for me I realized it and yes, I am getting my old self back. My body also, it never really forgot what it was able to do, and I am proud to show the younger girls that I can be stronger than them even if I am 10 years older. I am proud to show the men that I can keep their pace. I am also proud to be an example for the youngsters, it's called good rivalry. Still have things to learn, anyway. But every athlete, master, coach, never stops learning. Even at an old age.

Thanks so much for this. I really needed to hear it. I don't feel so alone. I've just never understood why it isn't ok to make comments about a fat person, yet it seems to be perfectly ok for random strangers to criticize my height, like there is something I can do about it. I'm six feet tall and big shoulders. I love going to the gym. I should be proud of myself more instead of getting upset everytime someone calls me sir or makes some other ride comment. Thanks again for this great video.

I say if you aren’t dating them who cares what if you think they don’t look good. Its their body and there body is shaped that way for a certain reason. Now if there body is reflecting poor health then you can voice your concerns but in a loving way.

It's pure ignorance to think that an athlete's shape is created by their sport where, in truth, their shape has led them to the sport. Katrin is a great example. She left gymnastics because she was simply too big to be elite but found Crossfit where her size combined with her strength made her the best in the world. Of course, the drive to excel must be present, as well. She simply arrived at the perfect intersection of all these factors.

Kudos for your incredible work and titles you won!! But for me competing never made sense...I look shredded 365 days a year just because I love it feeling strong and confident in my Body and not only for one peak occation...I am plantbased, training really hard, injuryfree for years🙏🏽and quite old for this kinda thing haha😝✌🏽💪🏽

Stan Schurman stop being so emotional it’s just facts. She’s obviously a kick ass athlete but the casual viewer would read the title and be mislead. It’s just a simple error that I happened to point out. Stop being so triggered
@yolanda2310005 жыл бұрын
@@Caysum21345 Then maybe that's what you should of written in your original post. That way people would understand where you are coming from. Stop being so "triggered" by people who are "triggered".
