"The Doctor" - While Regina continues to try and stop using her magic in an attempt to win back Henry's affections, she begins seeing what she believes is a ghost from her past; and when Mary Margaret and Emma discover a lone survivor from an ogre massacre, Emma begins to question whether or not he's telling the truth. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Regina finds herself failing at learning the dark arts from a dark master because something from her past is preventing her from using her magic for evil, on "Once Upon a Time," SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Even in this beginning scene in their relationship its interesting to watch how certain character developments have been carried thru their relationship into season 3. Like his identity crisis of sorts how he constantly is fighting himself trying to figure out is he meant to be the man Killian or to be Hook the pirate ? Ironically in this he tells Emma his true Name Killian before he mentions his other more colorful name hook , as though he still recognizes himself as Killian and that the pirate is just a part of himself. That deep down he knows the man he was , is still alive and isn't completely gone. I think its interesting because thru out the seasons He has been fighting to regain himself . I think its very telling Emma is the one to bring his true self out ...

She knew him because when her and charming were pregnant they went to hook for passage on his ship to the evil queens castle. It's in season 6 episode 20. And there was singing involved

Not quite. As of this episode, she recognized the name instantly but not the face. Similarly, in the musical episode she and David went into a tavern looking for the captain of the Jolly Roger, but they didn't know which present pirate that was until he introduced himself. And, if you'll recall, everyone's memories regarding that "musical for a day" incident were erased, which is why he and Snow didn't recognize each other here.
