I loved george i wish they fleshed him out a few more seasons as he was the most realistic character in my opinion and was more grounded

I don’t think his dad was being fair. We’ve really only seen them try to get George to enjoy the things they like but they never ask him what he likes
@SynneDennis4 жыл бұрын
He at least acknowledges that they don't really understand his interests, which isn't a great excuse but you can kind of understand where he's coming from.
@derekrulez3905273 жыл бұрын
The stuff he likes are beyond what his dad and brothers know about. You think they picking on him nawwwww. They just tryna include him in the family and talk about the only things they know. I would rather have his family than one like Meredith's. They are simple folk but kind hearted. Humble but dignified.

I don’t doubt his dad’s heart is in the right place. He knows George has made something of himself compared to his siblings and that they will never be as successful as him. HOWEVER, what irks me here is that he’s asking George to feel ashamed of his successes and let his brothers feel they have the upper hand for once. That is where I find he’s failed as a dad. They’re in George’s field now; he’s in charge. So instead of being asked to pick a car, the right bonding questions would be to ask him about his job, what he likes, who he’s met, among others.

This scene makes me so mad. The dad made George feel like shit for being smart and the fact that the brothers were insecure about their own intelligence. That doesn’t give them the right to bully him and tease him the way they do. There is never an excuse for that. They can be jealous (most siblings are) but that doesn’t mean they get to put him down to bring themselves up. That’s just straight up toxic.
@derekrulez3905273 жыл бұрын
I actually kind of think it's the highest praise his dad could have given him. He told him that he was the smartest and was above all of them. They can't relate because of how mundane they are. It's not insecurity its how they try to bond with him. I'm sure his brothers are proud of how smart he is. They just don't know how to relate to him because of his intelligence. They try to include him in what they are able to do which is talking about cars and shooting turkeys. I'm sure they are all in awe of him. I'm sure they feel like they don't deserve someone who is as smart and gifted as George. But they still love him and that's why they came. Compare em to Meredith's mom and how cold she is. I would rather be in George's situation than any other. His family is simple but outstanding. They don't act coldly to him at all.

George has this "holier than thou" vibe because he's a doctor, he's in this constant need to prove to his brothers that he's different. He doesn't even try to get along with them, a mature person would've been less caring of the obvious differences between him and his family.
@leatonjenkins6810 Жыл бұрын
@@ErdemAltunhan, I don't see George with that vibe. It's more like he wants to prove himself to the ones he looks up to, Dr. Bailey and Burke. It was his interest in Merideth and how the writers handled Geroge's relationship with other women. Genuinely disappointing that they ruined his character.

Same, I have 4 older brother's and all the people in my family are either artists or mechanics. I took a automotive class just so I can talk shop with my cousins.

I understand where George’s dad is coming from, but I think he should’ve had a similar conversation to George’s brothers and tell them to stop making fun of George and to take George more seriously.

I wished the brothers were there when George talked about the open heart surgery. I feel like we could've seen a different side to them similar to how his dad reacted that would've earned George more respect in their eyes.

That way George and his dad solve a family problem but talking like adult. His brothers was a very annoying to George he did not like that at all be more responsible next time George feel sad. He is the best character forever.
