2XKO at Combo Breaker Recap and When to Expect More News

Another FGC event down, and with it another showing of 2XKO!
I was fortunate enough to be at Combo Breaker this year, so was able to get more hands-on time with the game as well as get details in person again this time around.
Let me know what you guys thought of CB, and where you expect to see news for the game next!

Summer Games Fest or even CEO are my best bets, both of which are quite soon! I've been wrong before though boss so take it with a grain of salt.

Don't know exactly what they could show/announce at SGF, could be about 2XKO, could be about Valorant Mobile, could be about Project F, or it could be one of the countless RnD projects we don't know about, we'll have to wait and see. But let me speculate about something. I think we already pretty much know when we're gonna get the at home playtest the devs keep talking about, and I think it's really safe to assume it's gonna be this November. Why? Because November is pretty much "owned" by Riot, it's their month, it's when the League of Legends World championship tournament happens that gathers tens of millions of eyeballs all around the world, it's when they release new Arcane seasons, so that's when Arcane season 2 is gonna come out, it's when they prepare for the new League of Legends season with the pre-season, and it's overall when they do and announce whatever they have to announce, it's when they fire their shots when the eyes of the world are on them, which is a smart strategy. So I assume that the at home playtests are for sure gonna happen this November😉

Very true! It could very well be they drop some bomb completely outside of 2XKO at SGF. But as far as November goes you might just be spot on. A beta right around Season 2 of arcane would be dope and like you said seems like a huge time for league and Riot as a whole

@@BruiserMinion yeah, November is pretty much Riot's month, and since we know that the 2XKO devs always hammer home this "at home playtests later this year" I think it's almost a certainty that's it's gonna happen in the late October-November time window, I don't say this just because of November being their month, but also cuz of the "later this year" key words, and since we're already pretty much halfway through the year, I see no better time to drop the playtest. I'm just so excited already, I think their servers are probably gonna crash in the first 30 minutes cuz of the massive amount of people who are gonna hop in all at once😂 can't fcking wait😍

@@YourBishMariaTeresa Can't wait! And we are already in JUNE somehow now so really not that long at all anymore. But yeah, especially after seeing Multiversus doing some pretty solid numbers for its relaunch I'm confident this game is going to be HUGE for a fighting game if it's an open beta and when it first drops. It is and will continue to be a really exciting time for fighting games thats for sure

@@BruiserMinion yeah right? It's already June, it feels like it should have been only about two months since the start of the year, but it's already been half a year, INSANE😂. And yeah dude, this game is guaranteed to be the biggest fighting game ever, and I don't think it's hyperbolic to say that: 1. It's free to play 2. It's the League of Legends IP we're talking about. To give a better understanding of what that means, 120+ million active monthly players, more than 600 million matches being played each and every single month, most watched game on twitch, most total hours watched of all time and it's not even close, best esport and it's not even close, a BANGER Tv show, billions of dollars of revenue and much much more. Other fighting games simply cannot compete against the sheer power that the League IP holds. To make you understand even better, I've never played a fighting ever in my life, 2XKO is gonna be my first, and it's gonna be a lot of people's first ever fighting game, and that says A LOT

Yea it's wild... but for this year I'm fine with it going quick for once to play the video game sooner. haha And couldn't agree more! Free to play, League IP, 2v2 to make it easier for the non-hardcore to hop in, and the game has been super well received by the hardcore as well so far! Going to be HUGE.

I was able to play it with my cousin at CB as well! I don't even play traditional fighters (just a stinky smash player right now), but it was super fun and felt super clean and polished. Super excited to play it.

Glad to hear it's good for ppl who aren't into traditional fighters, that's a big deal! Smash is a really solid option for a ton of fun with friends, especially 4 at a time. I feel like the 2 v 2 is a huge selling point here for similar reasons

Very jealous, hopefully the game is at world 2024 so I could try it, and surely the next announcement is a new character reveal, would be hype at summer games fest

Sorry boss, hopefully you get to play soon! I think after it showed at Worlds last year will probably happen again. And in terms of Summer Games fest it would be dope, especially with how soon it is already

Fingers crossed! Summer Games Fest is already so soon, would be dope to get at least 1 new character shown if they do actually have a showing for it there.

in case you didn't know they said ARCANE will be talked about at Annecy Festival 2024 june 12th, So i don't think they will do it in SFG. there are only two current games riot working on in their beta-alpha phase which are Valorant mobile and 2XKO so it is 50/50 but i would love to see that 50 goes to 2XKO

Would be cool to see something really really new at Summer Games Fest. We've seen a lot of hands on and previews since the name reveal in february, but I was hoping we'd at least see a brand new champion by now.

Agreed! If not SGF, EVO has to have at least a new champ! and MAYBE..... dare I say... actual Beta talk. Seemed like SF6 and Tekken 8 had several online tests, so if this game really is coming out next year it's getting to be about that time.

I hope they shows new characters in SGF, and even better if they actually shows more than just a new characters, it's really unfortunate that i can't attend to all these events to try out the game, man 2025 can't come soon enough. Awesome video as always.

Yea it feels close to time for some big reveals tbh. It's crazy to think this, but we are at a point where the game should be dropping in like 6-12 months. We still only have a few characters announced and almost nothing about the actual game features so If not SGF, EVO has to have some stuff im thinking. and thanks brother!

@@BruiserMinion same, Online is still really vague mainly because we never got to see how it's actually works, progression system is also haven't been shown at all and that's worrying, maybe they're going with KOF XV approach for character reveal, where they put out character trailers weekly leading into the game release date, i just hope the method for getting characters aren't super grindy like in League or Valorant, and maybe when the game came out we can do some testing for the netcode since i live in Southeast Asia lol.

@@terrybohart Totally agree brother. Some sort of progression system outside of just grinding ranked matches would be dope. Need reasons for more casual players to stick around, not to mention even I don't want to ONLY grind ranked all the time so the more ways to play and things to earn, the better. But yea definitely not looking to drop 20- 30s hours just to get one new character either, need to find balance in all these things.

@@Xarathos_1 IVery good point, if it's anything like the 10th there will probably be some really cool stuff. Would love to see more 2XKO of course, but if they even talk about MMO or that ARPG game that would also be dope

I was pretty bummed that they decided to go with no notice. Was on the fence about going to CB this year (since I have to skip out on the Indy 500 with friends when I did go the last two years), and knowing 2XKO was gonna be there would've swayed me to go. Especially since I can't make Evo this year. I've been fiending to play this game, haha. Hopefully we get playtests announced relatively soon? Would be hype to finally play.

Yea I feel that. It was funny too because I had a hunch they would at least have the cabs here - but I definitely expected some sort of heads up for it. Honestly if they confirmed it was going to be at CEO and summer games fest I would be extremely tempted to go to both. lol

Would be pretty rad. Minimum I hope they have the demo build on the show floor or something like that, but if nothing at SGF I imagine it will be at EVO again in mid-July at the very least! so more stuff soon one way or another.
