3.0 Motor Swapping my Subaru. Episode 1

Not sure how far ahead you are with editing. But be careful dropping the steering column unsupported. It can pop out of it's bushing at the firewall. It will still turn but will make a terrible knocking noise. It's nearly impossible to access from the engine bay or under the dash once the dash is actually installed.

Haha I've finished the swap and actully thank you twice I the next video 🤣 and tell people to check out your channel Also the steering column totally fell and messed up the bushing haha spent hours trying to get it right again haha. Rust never sleeps. I've done H6 to H6 swaps. This is very cool. That truck must be a rocket! I'll be pulling the H6 from my 275k Outback soon to do plugs, timing chain cover and other motor gaskets. Also clean up the engine compartment. That car has been our only for the last year, it has been neglected for a long time but keeps on running.

I'd love an H6 in my Baja.. I prefer the Ez30R as it has more power and each cylinder has it's own exhaust port.. 242hp iirc ..

Definitely dude. I tried to find an ez30r at first but wasn't ready for that commitment. A lot more difficult. But there is a company that makes a super charge kit for it. Wondering if I could make that work haha.

That's pretty sweet! I just got through H6 swapping my Baja a month ago, it's so much fun! Also I did the same thing with the steering column, big mistake but it's fine now. I guess you went with the 4eat out of the outback?

Congrats man! Crazy how diffrent they drive isn't it!? Yes I'm using the 4eat. Going to start looking for transmission mods to become a better off roader. Going to miss the manuals differentials though

@@AdventureGT FYI I'm running a jdm dual range 5 speed in mine, factory ECU, everything except abs works. it is possible to put a manual behind them and in my opinion 100% worth it!

You have to change the harness out between the cars. The harness runs thought the fender supports. Also the h6 trans filter mounts to the inner fender.

Sorry about the response time! A little worse with the lift and tires. But I belive I'm getting about 21 or so.

@@AdventureGT would you say you mpg improved with the 3.0? Only reason I’m asking is because I got a 2.5 Outback lifted and I’m getting 17mpg. Might be dumb but I’m thinking going with a bigger engine might give me the same if not a little better since the engine won’t have as much load.

Definitely improved over the last motor. But I only say that because the head gaskets were blown. I'm not sure why yours is only getting 17. That shouldn't be. But the H6 is widely know for its reliability. So you can expect to get 23mph for the life of the vehicle. With out complete engine overhaul like with your 4cyl. Hope it helps
