Awesome mate! Isn’t it a funny feeling bolting stuff on for the final time! Isopropyl alcohol works well on removing goo off of the aluminium sheet. Squirt a bit on and wipe if off with a soft rag, going a tad gentle doesn’t leave too much of a mark on the skin. Also….Bowden’s Own Metal Polish works great. Then seal it with Fully Slick as a protective coating.

Hi, Scott! I like your system of setting the cotter pins while the cabanes and struts are on the bench, much easier that way. It's satisfying to get a wing covered! For inventory control of the fabric use, I covered the 'other way round' on my SE5a: all four ailerons first, then did the wing panels proper. I kept all the spent mandrels from the rivets used on the wing skin, to be a 'guessing game' for spectators and visitors in the future. The closest guess gets a genuine off-cut piece of aircraft aluminum or fabric, their choice! Looking forward to your next installment, keep them coming! John SE5a

“Pretty stuff?” Crikey, I reckon that the wings will be as pretty as. When folks look at the finished plane, the bits which will be most noticeable will be the wings. Actually the whole ‘plane will be a real knockout. I hope that you bring it to the Tyabb air show next year, as I live in the Mornington Peninsula.

Just love your attention to detail Scott. Another outstanding 40 minutes watching you bring this bird to life! Again, looking forward to your next efforts. At one point you mentioned that the undercarriage might be damaged as it seemed to not be sitting correctly. Did you discover if this was the case or is it okay? Cheers, John

Great covering job, cut the inspection ring opening to inner lip of plastic ring, snap in cover plate probably wouldn't fit if you don't. and would limit putting your hand inside. have a great day.

Scaffolders call them pointy hole finders podgers. They usually have a ring spanner of the appropriate size fitted to the other end. Handy. Try Feast Watson stains with a minimum of three coats of UV resistant Urethane. That Cabots interior stuff won't last three months.

G'day Scott, Yay Team ! It's all going Swimmingly...; Olde Bean, Absolutely Top-hole...! If you're working up to decorating the Sky with an actually Biggles-ish style of a Gentlemans' Aerial Chariot ; Then you might Bally-well have to brush up on The proper Patois - all the better to Sling the (period-correct) Slang...(!) ? lol ! Keep on keepin' on, Stay safe. ;-p Ciao !

A question, Scott... It's a good idea to have that "floor pan" of sheet aluminum, to protect against oil/fuel spatter. Are you considering a way to prevent or reduce "oil panning" noise from this relatively large, flat sheet? I considered trying to flute this part, but it's likely to bend in odd ways, and opted to add some stiffeners of aluminum angles. Ideas from hangar mates included attaching wood strips, perhaps attached with double sided automotive tape. I might use more than one method. Your project is looking really good! John SE5a
