Neil Oliver experiences a small section of the more than 8km of underground tunnels at the Great Orme copper mine in North Wales, excavated 3,000 years ago by Bronze age miners. It is claimed to be the largest man made chamber of it's kind in the world.

I see from your post and his reply that I misunderstood his meaning by "like this" as if he were saying we were doing things "for example" this rather than "of a similar nature". My bad. By the way, this video gave me the wiggins! I used to do some caving despite a mild claustrophobia, but that tight squeeze he's going thru is definately beyond my tolerance level. Sheesh!!

@4246theone - actually, if this was made 3000 years ago, and the new testament was written 2000 years ago, we were doing things like that only one thousand (not "thousands 0f") years before the New Testament was written, and as the Pentateuch dates back several thousand years before Jesus, it predates the mine.... Not that the timeline signifies anything in particular - just correcting your chronology.
