[3.1] Shaper DELETION as Molten Strike / Frost Blades Scion in Abyss League

with the new ascendancies, this build got immune to reflect, 20% aoe on kill recently, a free culling strike and that 40% increase is now always not only against rare and uniques, so a pretty good buff all around

This build feels great so far. My gear is mediocre at best, so I'm missing an abyssal socket on my boots, most of my jewels only have one flat damage modifier and I'm still rocking lvl 18 skill gems at lvl 80, but everything up to t8 has so far been a joy. The interaction with upgraded arakaalis and cast on damage taken blood rage feels really good once you get overleech from Slayer, and 4 link frost blades does a great job clearing. Now I just need to get an enchant for my starkonjas and upgrade a bunch of abyssal jewels and I might be able to go for some shaper and uber atziri.

hard to say, I had the starkonjas and most of the jewelry and abyssal jewels laying around. Spent like 40c on a belly and 6 linked it in about 300 fusings, only got one abyssal socket on my boots so those were cheap too, I had the gloves in my stash already, and I crafted the foil I'm using. If I were to buy everything including the 6l belly with 3 off colours probably like 8-10 ex or so? It felt good even running a 5l and an even worse foil though. Still not gone beyond t12 on it and a couple red elder guardians.

I'd recommend trying Yoke of suffering as your amulet choice, and maybe mark of elder + shaper ring combo - that could probaby boost the dps even higher. also, a good rare chest with resistances, hp, hp% and crit chance % could be better than belly :)

Kinda missing out on the bubonic trail boots affix by not having all 4 types of abyss jewels socketed in tree/gear. Then again ghastly and hypnotic rolls wouldnt be that great either.

Bubonic trail and lightpoacher is rare this league, should i replace them with something else? Any suggestion? Also abyss jewel is also rare, if I want to use normal jewel which stat should I focus on? Thanks!

Hey on the tree you started from duelist. Do you think its viable to do the same root at the bottom of the tree but from the ranger start off point? was just curious and may possibly test it out as there is a lot of proj damage etc :) let me know what you think

Honestly Slayer raider is still your best bet i think. However if you plan on pushing delves then id go Slayer+jugg

Jugg? Just for a stun immunity? I found that quite a waste, actually. Ah, now that i'm think about it, that build don't use brine king pantheon... All my builds always used that, so i kinda already think of it as default :) Nevertheless, still don't know if it's worth entire ascendancy... Will try and watch how is it going.

Hey, i followed mathil build up to a certain point and was then on my own since i caught up and then found your post on reddit. I have been using yours as a model and i'm wondering if using shroud of the lightless over belly is a good idea or not ? You drop light pene and gain an abyssal socket, and still have penetration via the 6 link inside the chest. You only lose a bit of life (like 200) which can be made up somewhere else i guess Anyway great vid and your pob has been really helpful for me to figure out where to go, so thank you.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. Shroud is definitely an option, however my character struggled with the non flasked resists. In theory, you should be able to get more dps with the shourd, but I wanted to break the 6k life mark which belly allowed to me do.

Nice one, was going to make a molten strike character this league and after farming with my windripper for some time i have around 80 ex for a new build. How much did u spent on urs to get that lvl of DPS? Also ur weapons seems pretty strange to me, its somehow phys Foil but with fire dmg and ele to attack, what stats should i look for on a Foil then?

Helmet - 17ex Gloves - uncorrupted ~3ex Belly -9ex Shield - 3ex Bubonic - 18-20ex Weapon, ammu, belt, jewels and rings can be expensive as you want them to be. For weapon, you want attack speed > crit > crit multi > wed > flat ele Mine has a lot of phys but that doesnt really matter, I just happen to find one with such phys :)

@azasher if you had to play again your ST build or this one, which would you choose? This one has probably better dps through molten strike, but what about for mapping? Do you prefer the feel of frost blades versus ST? I played a similar ST build without abyss jewels and it was one of my favorite character. I'm hesitating to try frost blade this league. Feels like I can respec one into the other if I feel like it tho. Another question, you'd strongly favor ascendant over raider (especially after the rework?) for the survivability boost and additional access to jewels?

ST is more fun, but frost blades/molten strike is smoother to play with. Smoother, because frost blades + ancestral call auto targets everything around you

Thanks! I tried ST again in standard with my old lvl 97 guy, and then switched to frost blade + ancestral call without any change, and I did feel like I was clearing quite a bit faster. Plus I havent tried it yet, so that might be the league!

Are you gonna play this build again this league you think? Have you looked at the ascendancy changes? Deadeye seems pretty interesting for this build, but it's a bit hard to choose what to get. Gathering winds for sure. Then far shot for sure because it leads to 2 great nodes. But Im not sure what to do then. Endless munitions is great for molten strike I think with the additional proj, but ricochet is great for frost blades. Rupture is also great for suitability probably. Do you think you'd still go ascendant? Thanks.

hey, ancestral call is not a bug, but i did not use/i am not using ancestral call. It can do better single target dps, but it requires good positioniong, which i cant be arsed to worry about.

The build can be expensive, but not so much. People in the comments had great results without super expensive gear. its 770k shaper dps PER BALL which you then should multiply by 10

I've spend 5-7 ex so far(not including 6l and Lycosidae). And can only tell this build is absolutely amazing :P. Only thing you can really upgrade are accesorries. which cost about 30ex per slot . or jewels which cost about 5-8 ex per slot. Maybe a new foil since mine doesnt have a lot of phys dmg.. but then again i dont really know what to look out for :D But so far im more then satisfied. Can clear all maps with 5k hp. Killed Hydra and Phoenix without dying. Didnt try chimera yet. ripped twice on corrupted minotaur.

Are molten strike balls considered as attack? Cause if it is, i'm pretty sure that "life gain on hit" isn't restrained by max leech rate, so it's 11 aps, 10 magma balls from each. 11*11*46 life=5566 life gained in second, not even counting official leech. Almost like that old VP era. I really want to try it, but i afraid that my ancient PC will not be able to handle those balls.

Molten strike balls are treated as attack projectile and AoE ability. LGoH with Molten strike is pretty insane - feels like old VP.
