I dropped a 45' dry tamp stave silo once. It went down perfectly. I'm not doing that again. BP is high enough already, I don't need that kind of excitement again.

We have a 20x80 and a 25x80. We put cement blocks in for floor supports and topped them with 2x8 with floor on top. We did not pour in new floor where unloader was. It was Easy enough to adjust the height difference with blocks.

No. We use them for dry grain storage

Did you have to do much to convert it over for grain? How’s stuff coming out of the bottom look after falling that far?

@@TheRealJesseStoltzfus zero issues as long as silo is structurally sound. 10 plus years using it this way. Make sure CFM is correctly sized. Ours has full floor with proper floor suppports

I’m assuming you poured the floor inside flat and then added the unload and false floor on that? I’ve got an 20x80 and 20x40, that I’m thinking making 3 20x40’s out of so it’s not so tall. What do you mean by CFM? like the input fan pressure to inside for cooling? Are there vents cut into the roof?
