[3.21] Crafting Crucible Trees - Stop Overcomplicating It - Simple 3 Minute Guide

In this video, I discuss the main strategy of making crucible trees. While there are some minor min-max methods on making "mirror" levels of trees (Such as imprints and Primordial Remnant special mods), this is the easiest and best way to get 3-4 mod items.
I used with method along with 5 imprints to make my own perfect CoC bow I will showcase this weekend when I finally get the character "finished".

So If I need to merge two citadel bows to get the t5 TR bleed node on the high phys bow i need to allocate all the way to the t5? Or leave the t5 allocation blank? The t5 is the main caveat atm to maximize my dmg bc I am a bleed build and using a bowwith 136 dmg is so bad if I just get the node on 500phys bow like I'm trying to my dps will go thru the roof. @@phazedkilledyou if you want t5 bleed mod, you would get a citadel bow with 1-4 node that you want, then spam combine any bow with the bleed mod onto it. Ideally, the citadel bow has a missing node location in 5th row.

I always watch these, just to see if I learn something new, as it seems many youtubers figure out and pass on different things... and I did! I found out scouring the first node actually improves the chance of that node getting replace. Which I'm greatful for, as my perfect shield has a tree with horrible negatives all along it, including a reduction in resistances in slot one.

Would just recommend finding a way to changing your cursor pointer so that it contrast with whatever background you're using. Overall, nice explanation. It helped me better at understanding merging crucible trees. For example, in this video perhaps a decent sized cross shape that is colored a brightish blue here would've helped me follow what you're talking/point about. I got lost a bit and had to restart, because the way you were talking seemed like you were pointed at stuff, but I couldn't find the cursor lol

Does the level of secondary base is important ? For example, I have a main base (85lvl) with some tree and secondary base (75lvl) with tree. Do ypou know if the chance of how trees will combine is based on levels of combined items ?

You don't allocated nodes you don't want on your final item. The item you keep stays at bottom, so bottom item is the item you have allocated nodes on.

How much harder is it going to be to get the crucible tree I want on a fractured base (so basically assumed a base that has no nodes that I want)? I only need 3 nodes that can be on rows 1/2/3, no need for 4/5. Would it be too RNG? I know it might be easier to create the tree first by buying bases but then I'd have to spend potentially a lot on fracturing orbs to fracture the wand myself.

In any map, you can go to the crucible, click the item you are change, go into your inventory, drag a scour to the item node, and unallocate it. You want to do this to any nodes you don't want to be on your final item.

This feels kind of contradictory to other advise I have seen which suggests that you should build an ideal tree from right to left so that you never have to allocate bad nodes on the item you're sacrificing. I guess it kinda depends on weather or not you can source trees that only need one node added to be finished.

Yeh. Bows have the most crucible trees on the market, so they are the "easiest" to find ideal combinations.

This strategy doesn't work right to left. So if you have nodes 3 and 4 on a crafted item you are using, there isn't a good strat to improve it as merging it with a good 1 and 2 mod bow will be up to lots of RNG. If you want 4 node bow, start from scratch with what I suggest in this video.

Trees will get smaller if the crucible cuts off one of the connecters. This will happen and be deemed "unlucky". You want the missing node to be in the bottom position of crucible because that is the item you are crafting onto.

Since there is typically no missing nodes in 2nd row, the best option generally is buying an item with matching 2 nodes that you want. Ideally, with a missing node in the 3rd row for when you merg your desired 3rd trait.

This method only works if you assume that there is a difference in weighting between merging empty slots and non-empty slots. If you assume the opposite, that an emtpy slot is treated as such as any other, as theorized in this yt video "Crucible's recombinators: Theory on how they work", then your method is non-sense. I have no sample size or knowledge to how ggg coded it so i'd rather work on the safer side. Which would be crafting from right to left. There's no other variable which could betray you there.
