This is the second time I've seen this happen this patch. Both were with the rental Caterpillar (7 day) and the first time, the station eventually reappeared and I could EVA back in to find the ship stored. This time, I tried logging to menu to see if I don't wake up in the station since I already got ATC to let me in for fuel and I get an unexpected error (30009) preventing me from logging back in.

Happened to me multiple times as well. Both tes I was in scan mode and scrolling to turn on pierce
