There seems to be a lot of people not understanding the B-Roll in this video so im going to make a comment to explain this. The B-Roll is pretty much day 2-3 gear with a 10 div total setup missing Voice of the Storm. This was all done in Hardcore where i choose to prioritize EHP to not die over more dps. I want to point out that I was using Purity of Elements and not Wrath as the build guide tells you to do as I was deathly afraid of Shocks and Deli Ailments over doing more DPS. In Hardcore Voice of the Storm is ~50-70 div while it is only ~1-2 Div in softcore. You could have also gotten better gear than what 10 div would get me in Hardcore. The Midgame pob for this is at ~7m dps while the showcase char only hit ~1.3m dps. What I was showcasing to you was pretty much the worst case scenario on day 2-3 and as mentioned 2 minutes into the video, you would pretty much be doing 2x more dps than what is shown. dont worry about it :3 most people just go "dps or go home" so I had some guides for people too and they mostly complained where the damage is, while the build I suggested had insane EHP and between 6-12m dps (which is more than enough if you can safily do the content too right?). the least amount of people actually care for survivability or "hardcore viable" builds ^^* But I just wanna say thanks and congratulate you on the effort you put into the video

Honestly, this pob makes much more sense as it covers the stun issue ( which is not described in the video) in some way. The pob calculations are incorrect and we have a base of 50% chance to avoid stun just because we have ES all the time ? So, this will imply that we need only 50% more from jewls ? In the past, the main condition to go CI is to become stun immune, dunno if this is the case today ( based on poe wiki and poe ninja profiles from hc, it should be).

PoB doesn't count -61% lees proj damage from Returning Projectiles, and not all projectiles, always hit solo target, so real dps be lower, keep it in mind.

There’s already a reduced damage custom calculation, so the dps is already lower due to returning proj. The pob dps would only be lower due to not all proj hitting the target.

@Alliee your build is great i have reached 80 level and it's really fun to play. I am wondering about your PoB, at the Gear do you have mixed the 70 swap with midgame? (70 swap is the end gear right?) Because at the midgame you are using the anathema and the voice of the storm, not at the 70 swap. Also is the shield mandatory for the end game?

It would be ok in delve, it can get to at least 1k depth but I have no experience in delve with it so I dont want to make any promises other than that it can do at least 1k due to its defensive layers. Im not sure how much further than that it could push and im not sure if it would struggle with dps at any points but, it should be an ok delver

Yeah, this build is a giga scaler. If you want a build to just keep throwing money at while seeing meaningful returns, this is the build for it. It will eventually scale to the point where youd have no issues on bosses, and eventually get to the point where youd be able to kill them in seconds.

You could also read the pinned comment and understand the gear I used was on a hard-core char with substantially worse gear than in the build guide. We are comparing a PoB with Anathema to one with no Anathema, which you would have by the time you do invitations. You can also see that it was on a 5 link with no voice, which shouldn't be more than 5-10 div, and it wasn't even using wrath. You can be hyperbolic or actually look at what I was presenting and how it was underselling everything compared to the pob provided.

I tried this on SSF following the Blade trap build & it's working fine so far. Not the smoothest start ever ofc. Because the Ss swap is made for end game & require Nimis + Mageblood minimum to feel good. But I still appreciate the effort you put into making the starter PoB version as detailed as possible. Im doing a duo start on this with a mana guardian and we will be doing betrayal + breach -> shaper invitations -> uber elder carried -> uber bossing. If I was playing solo id pretty much follow the same path, id just be 1-2 days slower. Once im bored of Uber bosses we will prob do some 100% deli maps for fun

Uhm, if you come by my stream in a few hours I can try to get her to link you what she has planned. If not, i can try to later tonight, if you dont mind leaving a fresh comment thats not a reply it would be easier for me to find this since my comments are all sorted chronologically just so I dont forget and miss it. Aura Bot is fine too with this build and would do well but, just due to the buffs this league to mana guardian such as the new Dark Seer & Untouched Soul living, Mana Guardian is eating good. In almost all builds Aura Bot is just better but, due to how this build only really wants haste and wrath and due to how hard it scales off of ES, Mana Guardian ends up giving a lot more dps than Aurabot. Theres also really nice added benefits such as a Mana Guardian being literally unkillable even from an early stage while early/mid aurabots are kinda paper if you want them to run everything early. This is important for us as we want to do day 2-3 boss carries. Man Guardian also gets to run Determ/Grace/Aspect of the Spider and every other nice to have aura that we might need meaning we arent really losing out on anything while making both builds tankier and making the supports life not misery.

I said screw it and was just going to go boneshatter but now im stuck between that and this. Im going to do premade heists for once and my goal is 750 delve farming. Would be cool to solo my first uber though as well. Im not sure what late game build id like to do later in the league yet. But which would you recommend to start out? Boneshatter or splitting steel. Late game this build would have a more satisfying endgame if you want something to invest into and play long term as boneshatter is cool but, the upgrades end up becoming very far appart and require an eventual transition into 1h. Boneshatter would be easier to start than htis build as boneshatter... just works. Boneshatter is considered ole' reliable due to its aiblity to just have 0 issues and be a solif build. SS requires a bit of gear to get going and, is a ramper, meaning it will start ok and need time to get better and better.

The midgame update was meant to release today but its just a monumental amount of work. In a few minutes an update to double your dps will come out with the midgame update being released in 1-2 days which should bring you to ~30m dps.

No, the transfigured version adds the steel shard mechanics back which is what originally kept splitting steel from being a good skill. With the normal version not having the steel mechanic, it makes this skill viable and not annoying to use

Exactly what sort of build I was looking for! Loving your content this league as a newish player. I'm curious what the best atlas strat options are for this build? I've got my eye on invitation farming and maybe the new T17s, which is why this build looks great. Are there any other strats that would work really well early/late in the build? Any to avoid?

Invitation farming would be a great option, i just wouldnt rush into it too early as it might feel bad on low budget gear but it would be a great strat to aim for towards the later half of week 1. As for strats to do, this bild can really do anything as long as you stay away from Legion as this build has very poor clear for legion

Harbies are fun yeah, very hit or miss but can be decent if you dont go on a bad luck streak on fracturing shards

Im typically an RF player but I have been wanting to give bossing more of a shot with t17 coming. Can you elaborate on why you chose trickster instead of champ?

Trickster has bigger endgame potential to where it can pretty much out tank everything lategame and even at a lower 10 or so div budget be very tanky to where all but the 1 shots would really move your health. Champ will have a bit of an easier time earlygame due to its power being upfront while trickster will be a bit lower dps but it would still be respectable and enough to get you to red maps and a farming strat. Once the money starts rolling in, trickster will scale quickly with things such as voice of the storms, a good hubris, good chest, and eventually nimis for 2x dps, mageblood and eventually adorned.

No other skill scales as hard as splitting steel does in this build. Molten Strike has a 40% less multi on the balls which pretty much completly kills them esp when they just dont work with snipers mark. Due the splits from splitting steel were never meant to hit the same target, they have no penalty which we can abuse with returning proj to do a lot of dps.

I did Kinetic bolt last league so i have gotten used to almost oneshotting content, but this seems like a good replacement for a lazy player like me, IE the immortality tankiness.. And it doesnt seem to be that expensive to scale

This build is pretty much 1:1 to kb for frag in terms of items it would want to scale and stats. Its endgame is just adorned int/es/as stacking. I wanted to play kb of frag this season but sadly... its gone

I tried switching to Splitting Steel at lvl 72 after 3rd lab,and it works,except now i can't kill anything over normal mobs, and i can't go back to the traps as i got no more currency. This is really not a league starter for consoles unfortunately, as the availability of gear is so low. It is a fun build though but i have to make another char to salvage it so maybe keep in mind for future build guides and mention if they are SSF doable, as that is what consoles are like, SSF lite.. Do you think this Phys mitigation is good enough for HC? I know you were running HC in the video and used purity of elements, but anything else to consider?

Yeah, it's fine for hc, pretty much everyone who played this played like this. If you are going to play hc, getting a phys to fire craft on your helmet and eventually using a delve phys to chaos prefix would be good. You can also get a phys to ele chest craft, but honestly, it's overkill and probably a lot worse than just more es/evasion. You can do purity of elements and eventually get phys as watchers. I was super confused, too, as when I played this in hc. Pretty much no one, even the Uber boss farmers care about phys mitigation and seemed to be just fine. If you want a bit more inspiration, I'd maybe look at the level 100 tricksters in hc this league and see what else they did, but I genuinely don't remember much phys mitigation.

can confirm, i didnt play steel but bladetrap trickster is almost the same gear/tree, its kinda hard to get all the res/shock immunity elsewhere. but its for sure not impossible, if u play with that many rares but es gear with alot of es AND res is crazy expensive on hc.

Sorry, this was a big rework to leveling swapping to blade trap that I hoped people wouldn't see until the morning. A video is out talking about it, but the tldr is that blade trap is just easier and better to level with.

You'd be able to get to ~1k with this, I'd say, but past that, I can't really say. I don't see why this couldn't push like manaforged arrows can, but without testing it myself, I can't say outside of knowing 1k should be doable due to its ehp

Hi, thank you for the guide! I personally don't like trap/mine play style that much, are there any other decent skills I could use during the leveling with a similar tree? Upd: Lightning strike looks promising. I can just plug it into the splitting steel midgame tree and it does almost the same damage. And it seems to also reasonably work on the "swap" tree and gear even after I replace Ephemeral Edge with a pretty bad 2h axe (473k dps with a 406 dps axe, 610k dps with 600 dps axe, which is just a despot axe with one essence mod). I would appreciate any comments on this idea, especially if I'm wrong about something.

Id recommend armageddon brand or frost blades if you want an alternative leveling strat. Nice thing about them is that you can also take it into midgame and map with either of the 2 before swapping over allowing you to have a very smooth swap later on with even more currency.

@@Alliee Thank you for the suggestion. I did some testing of frost blades in act 1, it feels way better on packs. I also managed to kill brutus and marveil with it, but not sure I'd recommend that to other people. I suspect it's better to have either both explosive trap and frost blades or swap to explosive trap on bosses, the trap does a lot more damage in act 1 even without any trap specific nodes. Not sure how it is going to scale later in the campaign. Hopefully either frost blades get better for single target or it's worth investing some points into traps until the splitting steel swap. Also for people who might want to try the same, accuracy is a bit of a concern with frost blades, so using weapons with accuracy implicits, the precision aura and taking the precision nodes on the tree early is probably a good idea. Armageddon brand is a good skill, I levelled a hierophant with it in 3.23, but it's only available on lvl 28 and I'm too lazy to pre-league test how it is on a trickster =) Maybe will try it if frost blades + expl trap don't perform well at lvl 28+. @danieljohnson270 FYI

I need to ask this question.... In the full DPS calculation you're using 8xSplitting steel. I understand that we have 1 direct hit + 5 splits + 2 sniper's mark butttttttttt the 5 splits + 2 snipers mark only do 39% of the damage (Because of returning projectiles). What gives us a total of (39% * 7) + 1 = 3.73 What am I missing? is what i'm saying correct? or how are we accounting for Returning Projectiles? Thank you!

POB doesn't calculate ANY added damage from returning proj in the first place. Your reddit post is inaccurate at best. Did you bother disabling the gem first?

@@DeedlyDood if you disable Return Proj, you should also discount 7 (5 split+2 sniper mark) projectiles from splitting steel, making the single target drop from 7.7m to 1m.

@@DeedlyDoodPOB is not currently able to calculate the RP damage, so Allie manually added projectiles in the POB as a workaround. That's why removing the gem doesn't change anything - b/c it was never doing any calculations to begin with. The problem is that when you manually add projectiles POB adds them all at 100% damage. But RP reduces projectile damage by 61-70%, so the damage of those manually added projectiles is 61-70% too high. Once you factor this in the real damage of the build comes out to roughly half of what's in the POB. TL;DR - @diegogarber1 is correct, there's a mistake in the POB and it's significantly overstating the damage. That said the damage is still respectable and the build is still functional, just not to the extent the POB would have you believe.

Youd drop Lethe Shade as its pretty big overkill on anything but lategame bosses and you can drop Arcane Guarding if you end up getting an Execptional Element Avoid roll on your boot implicit. You can also drop the mana mastery and play with a little bit of a smaller mana pool which should be fine at ~90 mana or so. Im going to make a 2nd lvl 95 ish tree and update the pob as i think this would help people, thats mb for not adding in a lower level setup

Also sorry, to add onto this, you will never get to the level 99 tree anyways as you would be adding in a Thread of Hope saving you ~7 pasive points waaaaay before youd get to 99.

So I started this at league start and switched to Splitting Steel a little earlier than I should because I hate not playing an actual build and having to gear up to it. I also play on X-box where the economy is not even close to PCs. Can’t touch a Anathema for under 3 Div and Storms isn’t even on the market 99% of the time. That said I’m currently level 81, don’t have an Anathema, a Storms or even a 5 socket chest and I’m pushing just over 3k ES. I’m still able to run yellow maps (even with what I feel is the worst league mechanic I’ve played so far) and although they’re a bit slower than I’d like, I still get through them. With some minimal upgrades I feel like this build will keep getting better, and is the reason I keep going back to it when I feel like giving up and trying something else this league. So long story short, check your gear, ensure you’re at the minimum requirements Alliee posted, and be patient if you’re a casual player, it should pay off.

Hi Allie - I tested this out today - the only annoying part was that the default Neversink Lootfilter wouldn't identify the right items especially towards the beginning - seeing as Act 1 is usually proportionally the greatest time sink during leveling anyway, would really appreciate if you could also provide your lootfilter. Will help tremendously :)

I cant make any guarantees as I have no experience on this in high delve but, it should have the defences for 1k. Im not sure how much further than that it can go nor do i know if its damage profile owuld do well in delve. Without actual testing its difficult to say but i cant see why at least 1k wouldnt be possible

It's all going to depend on what you want to do and how much you value tankiness, comfort, and what kinda content you want to do. Champ is easier and stronger to get going due to it getting ~80% of the builds power upfront while trickster only gets ~40% of it while scaling a lot harder from there. If you dont plan to play this build for 1-2 weeks at least, champ is better but, if you want a build to play for a large portion of 3.24 and like investing into a build, investing into this will feel comfier. Trickster just ends up having a better Endgame due to it not plateuing super hard past ~200-300 Div outside of Mageblood. It will also have ~3-4x the ehp of a Champ which will make Champ look like paper in comparison. Champ will still be decently tanky but nowhere close to Trickster. Champ will do more dps though especially when it goes Crit with an endgame champ being able to do ~110-140m dps while Trickster does ~20% less dps only managing ~80-120m. This is still enough to pretty much isnta kill everything in the game and it kinda just turns into PoB padding.

Serious question since i didnt do heist last couple of leagues, but are 100c per hour with low lvl contracts even possible? i would assume maybe 20-30 at best even speedfarm setups only make around 5 div/hour in heist with 83 contracts afaik while selling fragments/gems/stacked decks

No, low level heisting is pretty much dead with the heist rework. You'd be best off with rushing to 83 contracts and just progressing your atlas as blueprints kinda suck now at low tiers which was the main drive outside of infinite heist

​@@Yaumyt There are a bunch of people who played this build in Affliction and you can look at their characters( on poe ninja) to see what you can expect in the lategame obviously with some changes due to wildwood trees not being in the game anymore but should give you a general idea(all of them are very identical from what I've gathered). Also note that we don't know all the new mods/uniques you can get via grave crafting so there might me some new unique/mod that will be completely busted but we will have to wait and see.

Lightning strike cannot shotgun like Splitting Steel can. Due to splitting having 5 base splits, with returning proj/nimis that effectively means you are doing 6x dps on a boss if you are standing inside of them. LS would only have the splits from snipers mark as you cannot shotgun with LS meaning it would be doing ~3x less dps than this setup.

@@Alliee with LS you got the Initial hit on the ground which target nearby enemies with one point investment and four prog that go out and four that return, so 9x the damage with no attack speed penalty and better effectivness or am i missing something?

The additional projectiles cannot hit the same target sadly meaning you only can do 3 hits at most abusing +1 strike.

Can anyone help me with this buuld, please? When you're levelling with blade trap, the guide says to use a g-g-g-b one-handed sword, but how do you get one? I can't even see one on trade. Brand new player, so I'm probably stupid.

I agree, we dont know where Indigon will be shifted to, either Uber Elder or Uber Uber Elder. If its on UUE, it will be rare and expensive for a whiiiiiile. This build will want Voice of the Storms as a decent early upgrade which might also be expensive but it wount be as unreasonable as Indigon might be IF it is a UUE drop and doesnt stay on UE elder.

It can at least get to 1k depth but I have 0 experience on the build in delve and on a very high budget so I cant say how far it would push but it certianly has the ehp for it. I also cant tell you when/how it can go into delve and what budget levels would be needed to be comfy at different points but, this setup, at some point in its progression, should be pretty good in delve to at least 1k. Past that would require testing to know how good it truly would be.

Not reaaaaaly, the sword could be hit or miss to get and you really need it. You could play Blade Trap into maps until you egt it but, youd lose out on ES leech meaning your recovery isint the best. You could go Spellrbeaker over Soul Drinker until you do get it or, maybe try a different Trickster build such as Frost Blades and swap when you find the sword with good ES gear.

There will always be crafting guides with the mid - and endgame versions of the build, yes. For leaguelaunch, no, because none of the gear is worth crafting as it's too cheap and crafting materials are too expensive.

The tincture wasn't doing anything. That tincture was specifically a rage on hit tincture, which I specifically wasn't using berserk for. I used its flask uptime to fix my resistances in that build, so I couldn't take it off. Realistically, it made almost 0 difference in anything given that I also just didn't have voice of the storms on hard-core, which would've doubled my dps.

We need to see what will be available with corpse crafting. I plan to make every mirror item for this build so I'm sure we will find some new tech. Everything should be datamined a few hours before the servers go up, and I plan to sit there with my stream and theorycraft. If something imideatly looks promising as a big upgrade, I'll be making a video asap on it.
