Great video! One tip though if you do more vids is to get better lighting. I understand you are on the street however with all the portable LED lights out there you should be able to find a good one. Ok, I'm off to wrangle my tensioner and belt, it should be much easier now with your expert instructions! Thanks!

Thank you for your suggestion, proper lighting and camera angles are always a battle to give you guys (the viewer) the clearest possible view while allowing me still room to work is quite difficult. I've since invested in some lights I've used in my newer videos. Good luck with your belt, hopefully everything went smoothly for you. Thanks for supporting my channel!

I’ve been trying to figure out how to reach the detentioner bolt lol, I’ve been trying todo it from the top of the car. This makes so much more sense, I’m doing a water pump on my 07 v6 3.3 sonata almost the same set up, but same engines. I never thought of going from the wheel hub

great job, especially in the street! Wondering if there is any usefulness in placing front end on jack-stands to then be able to turn the rotor assembly all the way right (or left) to gain better access breaking that 17mm bolt? BTW, do you know if on this 3.3l when replacing the alternator you must drop the AC compressor out of the way 1st to gain access to the alternator?

In my opinion ideally one should have an electric impact (or air with a small compressor) if your going to do roadside repairs like these. Milwalkee makes one with over 1000ft pounds which would be perfect! The second question im unsure if you have to drop the subframe, most cars you can sneak it out but its a tight fit through the bottom. Thanks for supporting my channel.

Great vid, keep on recording. On the note, its HARD TO FIND!!! I looked up the obvious "3.3L serpentine belt replacement" and there is nothing. More tags, sir!

Taking it off or putting it back on?

You give it to tighten on impact and then to loosen and luck.

This is a pretty straight forward swap, and I'm frustrated with mine. The new tensioner doesn't alighn the same way as the old one, and the belt walks off. There's not multiple ways to put this on. It's just some engineer got creative thinking they could megamind some new way to make this better, and he should have stuck to the script. Be careful about your aftermarket parts I guess.

Definitely! All aftermarket parts are not created equally!

the tensioner $45 you may need to replace the pulley too $25 the belt need to replace too $30 when you doing this job , do not be cheap , very nice video though .
@DrDemp3 жыл бұрын
Not sure where your getting parts that cheap a quality tensioner as shown in the video "Gates brand" cost $170 dollars and the belt was $30 dollars. The pully comes brand new with the tensioner. Thanks for supporting my channel.

@@thehegt Lots of scams and knock off OEM parts are on eBay claiming to be real parts. The OEM part from a legitimate Hyundai Dealership is $260 dollars. I'd rather do the job once than have to redo it from a knockoff part failing. Gates is a trusted brand. From a local parts store.
