3.5 Hours of Relaxing Nevada Desert Driving | Carson City to Las Vegas Complete Drive 4K

A relaxing and beautiful scenic drive through the Great Basin and Mojave Desert in Nevada from Carson City south to the Las Vegas Strip. This video shows the entire 430 mile journey. We begin heading east on U.S. Route 50 in Carson City and the majority of our journey is on U.S. 95 south.
The area around Carson City was covered in a smoky haze due to large wildfires burning to the west in California. The skies get clearer as we head south and we run into a few spots of desert rain along the trip.

We used to drive from Walker Lake through Carson City on Route 95 passing Tonopah, Goldfield , Beatty City, Entering the Las to Las Vegas.I remember driving for over się hours. I suspect this is the route. This tour was so peaceful, relaxing. I mention that Nevada is the western part of the United States near the Pacific Ocean. Carson City is one of the smallest seats of state government . Thank you for the beautiful video. Thank you hugs from Chicago, Illinois.

1st time I drove across the desert was East to West in a VW van. 1st time in the West too. Magical. Drive long stretches of flat desert then up a rise and down to the flat. After hours like that it was like being on a conveyor belt going anywhere - . Time evaporated ...Very trippy.

Great song! The Black Crowes have a really nice cover of that song too. Don’t recall running into any speed traps out there (at least outside the towns). Yeah it’s really something being out there in the middle of nowhere in the Nevada desert, like being on another planet compared to the East Coast. Unlike anywhere else we’ve been so far. Hopefully you’ll get the chance to come out west, flights to and from Las Vegas are generally pretty cheap! Thanks for watching!

I grew up and still live on the East coast. But I have been out west many times, driven many thousands of miles through much of the region. I will tell you, you need to get out there and experience it. You just cannot appreciate the scope and size coming from the east coast. It's truly mind blowing. As far as speed traps - almost never. Especially once you are a few hundred miles outside any major city. Sometimes you can be on a large stretch of highway for hours and see maybe a few other cars. Few buildings, no infrastructure, no cell service, etc. Just wilderness.

This is pretty much the way I first went to VEgas, but then learned, and it actually cutoff some time, Drive south out of Carson, Down to Minden/Gardnerville, and then from there, kept going South to a road that went off to the left, forgot the name of it, but from there you can take it to do Believe Yerrington, then from there, all the way on Highway 95 to Hawthorne, out of Hawthorne then the longest part of the trip to Vegas
