ok so heres some research i did: since produce 48, they first talked when sakura was in class A, and she didnt know anyone from there. chaeyeon noticed sakura looking confused and upset and decided to go over and help her out, as she knew how to speak some japanese. that was when they first talked to each other for the first time. (i think) day by day, their friendship deepened and blossomed with love and affection. they cheered for each other regardless of winning or not. the last episode of produce 48, sakura wished that chaeyeon would debut and be in the same group as her. tears of sadness and happiness came dripping as their love for each other never ends. when chaeyeon was announced official member of izone, they both cried and hugged and were happy that they debut together. in late 2018, sakura wished that 2019 would be a great year for them to get closer then ever. however, 2019 was not a great year for them. sakura got closer to hyewon especially and a new ship arose; hyekura. they showed affection to one another on camera and people were upset about how sakura doesnt show it to chaeyeon anymore. chaeyeon was caught looking and feeling jealous during lives,cameras,meet-ups etc but she tried not to show it. she tried to get sakura's attention as much as possible but sakura only paid attention to hyewon. chaeyeon, feeling miserable and disappointed, moved on to someone, minju. they then began showing their affection on camera and a new ship arose, chaemin. then suddenly sakura was spotted looking and feeling jealous instead. now she tried to grab attention from chaeyeon but unsuccessful. theres this one video where the members has to carry a member of their choice on their backs and to do some challenges. at first, chaeyeon kept glancing at sakura but minju asked her to pick her. but chaeyeon kindly rejected her and went to sakura and picke her < cute recent chaekura moment ❣️ however, theyre still not very close but all i hope for is for 2020 to be an awesome year for chaekura and for them to reconcile back and to be close again. my heart will never stop beating for chaekura and my love for them is endless. ❤️❤️ 사랑은 절대 끝나지 않는다🥰❤️

I just hope they are still friends. I imagine sakura must tell many things to her family and friends in japan about korean, chaeyeon. How hard her struggle, Korean culture, etc. But the most important is kura said she always lives alone since childhood. I thought it must be hard for her, and for being have no friend, but now she founds chaeyeon. Got a real best friend! She must be sooo happy. She seems loyal, too. I think she will never let chaeyeon go. I hope they're still friend.
