I was just refreshing all what I learnt in college now that all these are not useful to me but still find them interesting :). So thank you for making it interesting and we need human beings like you to shape our future 😊….Kudos sir ji 😊 In this particular video, can we do in simple way like mentioned below: Instead of doing cross power evaluation, we can simply run all dependencies, like for example: R(ABCDEFGH) N: iteration 1 iteration 2 iteration 3 A->G = AG AB->C = AGHBC C->FG = AGHBCFG (Final) H->B = AGHB G->H = AGH (Now these are all possibilities) => AGHBCFG = ABCFGH (removing duplicates) R(ABCDEFGH) M: i1 i2 A->EFG = AEFG C->DBH = AEFGCDBH B->DE = AEFGCBDEH (FInal) G->C = AEFGC (Now these are all possibilities) =>AEFGCBDEH = ABCDEFGH (removing duplicates) That means N is subset of M.

I think it would be better if you write FG rather than F=G. That is you should equivalent sign rather than equals sign because F equals to G and F equivalent G both are different. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Here we are talking about dependencies of different attributes. Within a given attribute, or dependency, two different tuples cannot map the same attribute value to two different, functionally dependent values, ie t1(E) = t1(AD) and t2(E) = t2(AD) => t1(AD) = t2(AD)

Just check all the dependencies...of both sets...if they hold it is equivalent...give numbering to each dependency and check one by one if there dependency is possible in closure...of yes then ok

I think if E -> H and E-> AD, then by the transitive property, we can have a functional dependency H-> AD or vice versa. I'm not sure if I'm 100% correct. But the logic seems right.

yes , E implies AD means for two same values of tuples in E ,the values in tuples of AD must be same. similarly in case of E implies H,for two same values of tuples in E the values in tuples of H must also be same. AD and H are different set of attributes ,so no problem. I hope you got the point.
