Are you multiplying them by a factor somewhere? Thanks for your answer :) It will be extremely helpful.

I think that the expressions for alpha and beta are missing a factor of omega on the outside of both expressions...

Hey man, I used your videos as the basis for a project I did in my PDE's course on the 3-D wave equation, so thank you for posting such an in-depth analysis. One thing I wish I could have done though was shown your simplified model for the plane wave with chosen values of alpha and beta (I ended up drawing them by hand). Is there anyway you could upload those/provide a link where I could view them outside of your youtube video? Thanks!
