2024 Toyota Tacomas 3,700 off and Toyota still can’t sell them and more 2024 Tacoma horror stories !

It’s going to take more then 3,700 dollars for these truck to sell I’m just being honest! I’m a huge fan of the new Tacoma but it’s just way to expensive for what you get and now we are starting to major issues with its reliability! I’m on server 2024 Toyota Tacoma Facebook pages and on 4th Gen Toyota Tacoma page I found this thread and other horror stories as well ! Apparently one new owner had 2 not 1 but 2 rear ends go out and after he traded it in for a loss and got a grand highlander ! Here is what happened I copied and pasted the thread ! had the rear end replaced at a thousand miles, 500 miles after I got it back it went out again, come to find out there's a handful of others experiencing the EXACT issues. I got put in three different loaners and ultimately they're "supposedly" working on a recall so they didn't want to replace it again, whines at 71-74 mph which are the speeds I most frequently maintain. They wanted me to start a case with customer care and instead of getting the run around, we traded it in before it lost any real value. Gave me 2k less than I paid, had positive equity going into the grand highlander so it's a win in my book. Wish it would've been a different story though ! rear end differential is what it was diagnosed with and what has already gotten replaced, now bad again

No, I will never buy a new Tacoma that’s built in Mexico, over priced and the lack of a V-6 engine. I’m glad the Nissan Frontier still offers a naturally aspirated V-6 and a King Cab with the rear access doors that Toyota decided to do away with on this new Tacoma. It’s too bad they did away with the rear access doors, it made it easy to get things in and out from behind the front seats. I just don’t know what knucklehead in the Toyota higher ups thought this would be a good idea. Another way I guess to save money but charge us more.

With rates being high in blah blah blah these auto manufacturers got us fucked up with prices like this this economy is going to go down in 🔥 because of Joe Briben! Vehicles are piling up no matter where you go & look. They're going to either keep them or have to discount the shit out of them (previous prices) prices are just too high for trucks people don't want & being made 100% in Mexico is disappointing! Japan USA or bust & my Tacoma was made in Mexico The air conditioning didn't work from the factory and neither did my 4-wheel drive system, well it got stuck in 4-wheel drive & I was not even off-road! Had to be towed to the dealership it was the front diff actuator!

It's not about the issues you may get with the build quality from Mexico, it's the fact that they have them build in Mexico and pay pennies for wages which increases profits, then over price them at MSRP which is also an increase in profits. The dealerships are just greedy with tacking on extras no one would ever ask for at obscene mark ups. Someone tell the dealerships that covid is over. The reason Tacos and Tundras were bullet proof before was because the naturally aspirated engines didn't push the internals to the limit as they were built for reliability and not horsepower. Now they're taking a 4 banger, super charging it, increasing horsepower, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this will reduce the life of the engine that was not designed for it. Check out the Tundras and all their issues now.

((ALL)) dealerships buy their cars/trucks, they get loans from banks and buy them, they sit in the lots and there's a monthly bill to pay on every vehicle. This is how they can claim 15,000 Tacoma's are sold per month, because the dealerships bought them, not an individual. Mexico sends 15,000 Tacoma's into America per month; I hope this clears up the BS when a dealership lies to you and claims their selling 15,000 per month. The problem with Toyota is its new leadership. The old guard was loyal to its customers. This new guard is only loyal to money. They dont care about you, but they want your money. That's how it looks to me. They're offering things people don't need in a truck and aren't giving much option to buy a truck without those fancy and expensive add-ons. Toyota must think we are going to buy anything they shove in front of us. Think again Toyota. Those trucks are going to rot on the lots before we buy a truck thats overloaded with extras that we don't want or need. This includes a small displacement 4 cylinder engine that has to be turbocharged in order to get out of its own way. Turbocharging is for diesels and race cars. Diesels run effectively under 2000 RPM and the turbos are partly lubricated through the exhaust. A normaly aspirated gasoline engine produces its best torque between 2000 and 3500 RPM. A turbo boost gasoline engine produces its best torque well above that range. So, what do you think is going to happen to that turbo engines life compared to a normally aspirated engine? I have looked at the MPG comparisons between the turbo 4 and a normally aspirated v6 and there is very little difference. So my question is what are they thinking?

Kenny, I had an 1986 xtra cab. That's what they called them back then. It had a 2200cc I-4, 5 speed manual transmission. It was a great truck til I wrecked it on Marine drive in Portland in 1990. I want another one... but I am gonna wait a couple years til all the bugs are worked out of this new engine. I am however, leaning to buying a 2025 NX 350 H luxury. Sweet ride and great mileage. I enjoy your vids immensely!

I would just buy a new Frontier if I wanted a new truck. I like the look of the new Taco but I hate Made in Mexico like I hate Made in China, I hate the turbo 4 banger, I hate the fact the info center depending on the model can block the view out the front window. In some parts of Canada you are on a waiting list for a new Taco, and most city dealer ships jack the truck up, add rims, and bunch of other crap.

I've had a lot of vehicles. I'm on my second Toyota. To be honest I didn't think Toyota was as great as everyone thinks anyway. People conveniently forget Toyotas recalls. And some big ones. I do think Toyotas are good. But no where near the reliability the reputation seems to suggest. In my opinion Toyota won a giant marketing campaign in which they had promoted themselves to be much better than they really were. And a couple generations later the idea of Toyota became somewhat ingrained in society. You can talk to people with broken Toyotas that still say how reliable and great they are. The Toyota culture seems to get Toyota a free pass and less ridicule .

Yeah, the one that’s $1000 off has power seats and a rear sliding window and a power outlet. It’s almost fully loaded. Just doesn’t have the ventilated seats with the leather trim or the automatic, lifting tailgate and the camera. Hope this helps my friend that truck is right underneath the fully loaded one.

Unacceptable to build a vehicle in Mexico where you pay less than 1/4 in labor and yet still have the greediness to raise the price. Quality is on par with the states, but Toyota is greedy. Also, those dumb huge screens they keep on pushing, which add price. Im refusing to pay that much for a 4 cyl. I would still buy a 4 cyl mid-size (not a 4 cyl full size like tbe silverado), but for a fair price, which for an SR5 4X4 should be less than $40k OTD.

The front ends make them all look like basic work trucks and they do not have a set of rims I want. One of the biggest things for me that i use the most is the dual climate thats only standard on the Pro now.

My biggest complaint with the new truck is the price and the lack of some standard options. Now in Toyota’s defense, they did add a lot of new standard options that weren’t on the previous generation I guess they just couldn’t do both. It would’ve cost them too much. ​@@littlekennytv5668imo what's hurting Toyota is gm released their turbo 4 first. So they are ahead and already somewhat getting proven. Also GM has a front locker on the zr2. Jeep has a front locker as well. Toyota isn't the king of off-road. On top of that you have ford. Also ahead with their turbo 4. Released first. For those not wanting off-road the Honda pilot still has the Ridgeline with the proven V6. And the Nissan has the proven V6. All of which can be had cheaper or equal to the Toyota. All more proven. It's the first year for this Toyota gen. They'll still sell. But it's a hard sell. Toyota is going hard trying to market these. The pro and trail hunter is really going to be problematic. The raptor is cheaper and the GM is way cheaper with a front locker. The tacoma just isn't the best deal. And a lot won't be willing to pay more for less capacity on a unproven chassis

@Jack908r and to be fair the smaller markets the trucks do fly off the lots ! In my opinion, the Tacoma is still the best midsize pick up truck ! But you now have the Ranger and the Colorado kicking up dust but I’m a huge Toyota fan so I don’t think I could buy a raptor ranger maybe if it was more raptor and less ranger lol thanks again for the feedback and the reply my friend good luck these trucks look awesome and I have test driven them and I think they drive good. My daughter went to med school in the PNW and let me tell you the cost of living there is stupid crazy compared to South Texas. What do you to for a living? @@littlekennytv5668 Competition landscape has changed for the better for sure. I also looked at the frontier, and the canyons. Ranger pricing up here is just stupid, so hard no on that. GMC was nice but again higher priced. Not as bad as the ranger, but still. Love my tacoma, but not married to it. If I find better value / reliability I'll go for it. Happy to see the competition step it up though, as we're the ones to benefit.

Looked up how many hours to assemble a tacoma, so its approx. 22 hours. Mexico get about 5 dollars an hour, Americans 15 dollars an hour. So thats way under 500 bucks for assembly labor. Parts where its made is a different number, but ill pay for quality over cheap, toyota better get on it or they will be viewed as American cars were in the early 80s.😢

Doesn't sound like you know much about automotive manufacturing. Labor is 10% or less of the cost of the vehicle on average. What about the billions of dollars it takes to build the plant? What about the cost of keeping the line running? What does it cost to train people? What does it cost a day to operate a plant? What about the rising cost of everything associated with building a vehicle. Is it cheaper today do unload a ship in Santa Monica and get the parts to the plants all over the US than it was 3 years ago or to truck motors/tires etc across the country? Lots of things reflect the cost of a final product. Assembly labor is a small part.

@reloadNshoot Actually, Toyotas biggest advantage of manfacturing/assembling vehicles in Mexico is tariff savings as a worldwide distributor hub. It's essentially production! Producttion guys tend to focus on suppling demand with maximum profit. Oh' but there's a little thing called quality control in manufacturing and assembly that, if it is not factored in at all times, is guaranteed to spoil the production demand distribution profits in the long run. The new hybrid Camrys will be assembled in Kentucky, so lets see what happens ther. Toyota Alabama announced it has started production on its i-FORCE 2.4-liter turbo engine line at its Huntsville engine plant, following a $222 million investment project, Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024.
