Father Nolan, you are on to something here. Truth, faith and personal Holiness. Please continue to post your homilies. We are at war with Satan and need edifying words to comfort the faithful in times of distress. God Bless you

Knowing an opinion of this crisis in the church from a priest's perspective is so gratifying. Knowing that child abuse is more pervasive in the wider community is so disheartening. Look to Hollywood and the Disney corporation for a new tide of abuse of children and young adults.

Thank you Fr., send your talks to the archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey. The cardinal wants the catechism changed in regards to homosexuality. Closed all churches during pandemic not being able to at least pray. Now, no one is allowed to receive on the tongue they should read "the sacred congregation for divine worship/communion.

I recently had a discussion with a non believer who directly blames the catholic church for all abuse. I do agree with fr Nolan that pedophilia is far more prevalent In daily society however I understand that the betrayal by the church is far worse. Thank you fr Nolan from south 🇿🇦 africa

While the number of reported pedophilia cases may have reduced substantially in this day, many children may not report until years later. The reason is that children are afraid to report because abusers use threats and children believe them. Another reason why they report later is because at the time of the abuse the child doesn’t even have the vocabulary to describe what has happened to them. I am very happy that the numbers seem to have reduced insofar as pedophilia is concerned, but what assurance is there that this is the truth? . You didn’t mention punishment of the priests who harmed 11,000 children. That’s an important factor in your statistics. Every one of them should have served prison time just as any other sexual abuser. The church instead sheltered them, supported them and thereby facilitated repeated abuse. As you said, one is far too many. Im hoping there are no more sheltered abusers. Finally, as briefly mentioned, the church is facing another problem and it needs to be addressed. If pederasty is happening, it’s not the fault of the media. It is the fault of the church for allowing it to continue and is something that needs to be eliminated to bring the church back to where it is intended to be. There is still work to be done. Don’t rest on reported statistics. We all know in the world of statistics that reality is not reflected in mere numbers. There are painful stories behind each of those numbers.

Agree but he's comparing like with like presumably. Also much more likely children will report nowadays. Far less afraid of adults and authority than decades ago. I've been in the Church of England for 40 yrs and never heard of a single abuse case or anything like it.

What were you apolgising for? That you were not taking about it? Look a year passed and more scandals are appearing, McCarrick guilty in a convent, Pell not guilty in prison... what has changed?
