Hey einstein, contact cement needs applied to both surfaces in a thin coat. Let dry to touch for about 5 min then press together and it is a crazy strong bond. Warm the glue with a hair dryer for an even better bond.

Taking such care with knives limits what you are willing to do with it. IE: make a pilot hole for tent pegs when the dirt is too hard to push or hit them in or dig holes when without a proper digging tool 🤠 I keep a flat bastard file attached to the sheath so a few quick files strokes has the knife sharp again I deliberately keep a burr on the blade - yes I can shve with such a blade

Badly ruined knives will benefit though. I especially like the simple thing of a cut through some pvc tubing in order to keep the same angle when learning to sharpen knives on a good stone. As a beginner, first timer, most of the reason of why people fail is in keeping the same angle throughout the process. This helps with that, on small stones even.

These hard plastic CD are not designed for impact and should it break, the flinging crack plastic are dangerous as hand grinder typically spin at up to 10'000 RPM, the centrifugal fling force with the cracked CD sharpel are extremely dangerous! Just buy a sanding disc pad designed for a disc grinder and you can sharpen your knife with great safety. Lastly do not remove the safety guard as it is designed to prevent cracked disc from hitting U. U can sell these CD discs to your local recycling center! SAFETY FIRST AND REALLY BUY A SANDING DISC DESIGNED FOR DISC GRINDER! It is very competitively price and safe!
