Amazing work! Historically, I find it incredible that no American soldiers died from the Battle of Trenton, there were 2 American deaths, but it was from the cold. Again, great work!
@Darqshadow3 жыл бұрын
@Gunni Clardy the continental blue helped mask them in the snow, linear warfare actually had camouflage in that sense, but red was still very easy to see unless you buried yourself but then... The French did wear white
@thesadslav4193 жыл бұрын
@@Darqshadow didn’t the colonist use guerrilla tactics though?
@Darqshadow3 жыл бұрын
@@thesadslav419 the militia did. When France started sending guns and advisors over the Continental Army started fighting in the linear style while militia acted more as sharpshooters or light infantry due to many using the rifled musket or even the Kentucky rifle itself.
@jojo_da_poe2 жыл бұрын
They also made sure to include the old colonial American flag with the Union Jack on it, as the painting of the crossing of the Delaware is actually not realistic, since the first "stars and stripes" flag had not yet been created.

Can I just say that I really, really appreciate the amount of effort you put into such miniscule details. The actual use of a ramrod and paper cartridge in the loading of a musket. The British affixing bayonets before the onslaught. The sheer amount of effort these possess is absolutely astounding, and I'm for-sure subscribing for this quality!

The battles of New Orleans and Shiloh also included significant contributions from the US river flotillas. The enfillade they laid on the British at New Orleans was particularly effective in keeping them from even reaching the US lines, for the most part (except in one area where they were repulsed by US marines). The gunboats Lexington and Tyler at Shiloh served important roles in keeping Pittsburgh Landing clear for reinforcements to continue landing as well as providing supporting fire to Grant's defensive line, which Prentiss' stand in the hornets next allowed them to establish. I'd love to see you revisit some of these battles now with more experience and resources and maybe doing an episode on the Tripoli campaign.

4:48 Probably something worth noting: One of the few advantages that that the Americans had over the British in both the War of 1812, and the Revolutionary War was that they had skilled marksmen and snipers who were proficient at identifying and eliminating British officers. The American's ability to weaken the command structure of the British probably won them a few battles, as the British relied heavily on their strict discipline. In addition, I just want to say the commitment to the accurate loading process of the muzzle-loaders is fantastic, as well as the change from a slow match in the earlier battles to a pull-cord during the civil war on the cannons.
@samuelpike12483 жыл бұрын
Ray,I was also going to add this. Francis Marion the swamp fox,and his band of volunteers that caused havoc against the British army during the Revolutionary War. Certainly snipers played a big part too,if they knew who to shoot at.
