The 3 Amigos Tequila story begins with the Gonzalez family from the Highlands region of Jalisco, Mexico. With deep roots in farming that span multiple generations, the family has grown 100% blue Weber agave for more than four generations. From growing and harvesting agave plants to distilling and bottling tequila, the Gonzalez family is dedicated to time-honored traditions in order to bring you superior, premium tequila each and every time.
The red rich soil and inclined slopes in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, produce the finest Blue Tequilana Weber Agave in the world. From growing and harvesting the agave to maintaining the fields, we carefully cultivate the land that has been part of our family for generations. 3 Amigos agave is harvested by our skilled jimadores who shave the agave completely from its leaves. Biological pest management keeps the crops healthy and free of synthetic chemicals and hormones. These farming methods earned 3 Amigos Tequila its organic certification from the USDA and the EU (European Union.)
At the distillery the agaves are cooked in small batches for twelve hours in pressure-cooking ovens. The agaves are then transferred to a conveyor that takes them to a juicer, which extracts all the juice from the agave - producing un-distilled tequila. Whether it’s Blanco, Reposado, or Anejo tequila, 3 Amigos distills all its tequilas twice. 3 Amigos Tequila Blanco is distilled, then put straight into a bottle. 3 Amigos Tequila Reposado is Blanco tequila that we rest in white oak barrels for 11 months. 3 Amigos Tequila Anejo is Blanco tequila that we age for a minimum of 2 years in white oak barrels.

DISTILLATION - 7 YEARS INTO THE PROCESS TIMELINE
Our tequila is distilled twice to ensure the purest final product. Before the first distillation the cabeza (head) and cola (tail) are removed and discarded, reserving the Corazon (heart) which is the purest part of the plant. Our first distillation takes approximately 2 hours, separating the alcohol and impurities. The second distillation takes approximately 5 hours, purifying the alcohol and is followed by a filtering process elevating the alcohol content, and ensuring the quality and consistency of our product. Our master distiller, Miriam Lopez, is one of the most talented master distillers and has a true passion for making 3 Amigos. Her job is to make sure that 3 Amigos maintains it’s high standard of quality and consistency.
Our Reposado is an all around great choice of tequila. It is our Blanco that is rested in charred white oak barrels for eleven months. Some consider this tequila as the best of both worlds. Our Reposado inherits traits of the charred barrels but still carries the hints of blue agave. Most of our competitors rest their reposados between 2-6 months, our Reposado is rested for 11 months, right before it goes to the Añejo class. Like all 3 Amigos Tequilas, our Reposado can be enjoyed in a snifter glass to thoroughly and appreciably experience its distinctive flavor.

Our Añejo is our Blanco that is aged for two years, soaking in the traits of our charred white oak barrels. 3 Amigos Añejo carries an initial taste of agave, wood, vanilla, light caramel body and a smooth and balanced finish. Many añejos are aged for 18 months or less, we found that aging for a longer period enhances the flavor greatly. While experiencing 3 Amigos Añejo Tequila, you’re drinking close to eight years of hard work and dedication that has taken generations to perfect.
