3 Amp Shootout: 2 Solid States vs. A Tube Amp

I'm chasing my ideal tone like anyone else. A quick comparison of the newly refurbished Fender Princeton 112+, my Marshall MG100 HDFX, and a vintage Kalamazoo Model TWO. Each has its strengths, but I realize I'm drawn to the "tube sound" and the Kalamazoo will get a refurbishment of its own!

I shielded the inside cabinet of my Kalamazoo Model Two using aluminum tape so that the chassis and the tape enclosed all the internal components. It is very quiet although I also shield the routing on my guitars. My favorite small tube amp.

It's a really good amp. Lacks the power to play a big room or outside without a PA, though. Beautiful 12AX7 distortion.
