Anxiously waiting for step number 2. Actually connecting the cord to an appliance.

should you change from a 4-prong to 3-prong stove plug? how would going from 240v to 220v affect the stove, or the plug outlet, or the electrical box?

Just use a VOM and do a continuity test on the cord before installing it.

Hi Coach! Question: We have a subpanel. We have a 3 wire range wire. Where do we connect the ground/neutral wire in the subpanel box? In the neutral bar or in the ground bar? Thanks for your response in advance.

The biggest issue with the 3 wire setup is that the neutral is a current carrying conductor, for the 120V circuits within the appliance, is also used to ground the frame. If for any reason the neutral were to corrode or disconnect from it's terminal somewhere down the line the appliance frame can become live and a shock hazard especially dangerous on a wet or damp basement floor. A 4 wire setup eliminates this problem by keeping the ground and neutral separate after the service entrance panel. While 3 prong cord sets are readily available for use in pre-1996 installations, it is my understanding that if you modify the circuit in any way, even if you just move the receptacle a few feet, than that is technically a new installation and you must pull a 3 wire plus ground cable, assuming a permit was pulled, and complications with a homeowners insurance policy can arise following a fire or injury from unapproved workmanship. Pulling the required permits and bringing things up to code when necessary is a small price to pay.
