Your story is inspiring. My father left us 6 acres of land, it’s not close to a beach or anything desirable by some standards but we are happy to have it. We fenced the entire thing to prevent squatters and we have finally received approved plans to sub-divide and build 3 homes, one for each of us. My brother took the existing house and is currently extending it. The challenges you talked about is no joke and living abroad while trying to get things done in Jamaica cannot be explained.

My land title takes roughly 5 years. Then I finally get my land title through the Jamaica national land agency, I think that’s the agency. Just last year. It was very stressful.

Try the bank. Most banks have their agents and the agents have their lawyers that they use. Most of the time you can’t go wrong with the banks. Keyword (most) not all

You have to be there, tricky situation. Do not just use lawyer, get a property lawyer to do the background paperwork. You will end up paying more than you expected. Sometimes back payment, back paperwork, other people attached land agreement. Be wise!

Met him when I was 23. Don't thinknu can buy capture land as who u bought it from cannot legally sell u but if u r in possession for 12 years uninterrupted and paying taxes, you may be able to apply for a title. Talk to a lawyer though or LAMP
