PITA installs like this are why I'm glad I was in central office most of my career.

It came with my t49 splicer kit, I have looked all over and no one seems to sell it directly without the kit.

Is there a switch at the top of those cabinets?
@joeslightwork3 ай бұрын
No those are in bigger cabinets not meant for techs. These are just fiber to fiber jump boxes with splitters.

We finally got fiber down our road. But I have no idea when it will actually go live. We have not heard anything from anyone about it yet. I’m still trying to figure out how they would connect our house anyway. There is no vault out here at all, in fact the line is overhead until they got to our property, then they went underground until they were past us, then they went overhead again. Didn’t understand that at all. And there is no overhead box on either side where they would tap in for a drop. Got me baffled! Any thoughts?
@joeslightwork3 ай бұрын
They ran fiber down a road beside me last year and still has no date either. Does your power go under at the same place also?, They might just be following power. The connection points might not be made yet. Is there coils or loops by the Poles?, or sometimes they like twisty tie it onto itself. If they dont have some of slack usually means they dont have a plan to open it for anyone and is just dedicated for whoever ordered it. The new company I work for said they will have the tech install up to 5000 ft , so the connection is not close there is still hope. They may also bore again to reach you.
@notajp3 ай бұрын
@@joeslightwork Nope, power stays overhead all the way. They do have coils at each pole where it goes underground. The funny part is that everywhere else out here, they ran it underground with vaults every so often. We are the only house on this 1/2 mile section of our road, so maybe that’s why they didn’t run underground all the way. Still expected to see a vault like everywhere else out here.
@joeslightwork3 ай бұрын
Well that might be a mystery until they send a tech out, then the tech might say well I gotta put in a construction order to get a conduit on your property. Or the tech might go from a vault to pole to pole to your house.

I dont think I really need that yet. Im looking into a crowd sharing wishlist, seems like amazon makes 1 person buy the entire item instead of splitting it.
