Been training for 3 years and never learnt how to tie my belt so that it doesn't come off. The third way is what I wanted. This helped me a lot. Thank you!

First time tying a belt for martial arts. I do kickboxing(no belts to tie), and just took up jiu jitsu(with gi). I was wondering why I had an extra 3 feet of belt on each side. Wrap it around the back first😄 These types of videos are appreciated. There is such a thing as the "new guy". Thanks!

This is very helpful. Been training for 11 years and I never knew about the last variation of tying a belt. Learn something new every day.

The superlock is the version my jiu-jitsu instructor taught me and it's been months since I have done jiu-jitsu so this helped me a lot with remembering how to tie my belt. Thanks

Great video👍🏽 I’m glad I don’t have to tie a belt anymore. My belt always came loose in Kempo, especially during our Judo 🥋 lessons.

@@terrynichol577 I now use the “Doubled-Lock” technique. I was recently gifted an ultralight BJJ & a Karate Kumite Gi by a company, but I just wear them in the house to stay on form, not for training.

I like the Hollywood superlock. Almost identical, but the belt doesn’t have that twist in the back. It lets me tie it a bit looser so I feel like I can take deep diaphragm breaths, but it won’t come undone because of the superlock. Standard superlock is what I was taught when I did taekwondo, but the belts don’t really come undone in TKD like they do in jiujitsu. Also a lot of TKD gis don’t even open in the front. Weird, right?

Your 3rd variation is slightly wrong, your top loop is twisted which will not sit flat, also the back shouldn't cross.

You know what is freaky? Talking about wanting to learn diffferent knots in class since i use the traditional fortune cookie tie. Then google displays out of the blue a clip about the different knots. Not seen clips on knots for years now but all of a sudden then show this afer i talk about it in class? There are phones laying everywhere in class i am %100 convinced now that google is listening and can identify individual voices. Fuckign scary google is. Do no evil my ass....they got rid of that saying for a reason.

@ypaut6 жыл бұрын
Luke Gray This is the traditional way in Karate-Do.
@lukegray74236 жыл бұрын
+Pypaut won't work for jiujitsu. It can hurt your back if you fall wrong. Especially if it's a new belt. It doesn't even take any time away to tuck it under like it's supposed to be.
@realitywithmj43345 жыл бұрын
bruce lee and mr. miyagi said belts are for holding your pants up. outdated part of martial arts considering how many guys with no belts have dominated mma over so many 4 and 5th degree black belts in bjj, kempo, ninjitsu, etc.
@johngotti94793 жыл бұрын
hey man.. . do me a favor and change the culture. . . you need new people in the game , bring money to the sport, treat white belts with more respect when they come in your gym . .. dont turn people away from the sport. and whats up with not having true weight classes in jiu jitsu.. . the sport really should change some things.....
