Every time I go out Steve, I have a drop shot or two tied on. I can't tell you how many times the drop shot has saved a fishing day for me. Great video as always Steve. Thanks

Thanks again for all the tips Steve, with short, to the point videos that explain everything we need to know! For some reason, several of your videos are not showing up, but that happens with many subscribers on KZbin, but I eventually find them!

I’m not sure why that happens sometimes. I’ve had the same thing for some of the channels I subscribe to. Thanks for finding them and watching!

Steve, I appreciate watching your videos. They are right to the point. Sometimes we get caught with a catchy title and end up with some dude pontificating himself with vocal diarrhea for 20 minutes and go away with nothing, not so in yours.

I'm going out this weekend "expecting" things to be slow....Such a timely video for you to put out! ....as usual. I'm going to try as hard as I can to stay off using a drop shot, so I can get some confidence with all the other baits I have in the boat. I've been known to ditch everything else pretty quickly and revert to a Texas Rig and Drop Shot set-up, where I seem to do my best. Definitely have plans to use a weightless soft plastic and dragging a jig. I just have to figure out a way to slow myself down! Happy New Year and tight lines to everyone in 2025!
@SteveRogersOutdoors15 күн бұрын
It is definitely tough to slow down this time of year. If I am fortunate to have someone come with me, the conversation usually helps me fish slower than normal. Otherwise, I really have to concentrate.

@@SteveRogersOutdoors Well...I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to get fish to bite on skirted jigs. I gave it a good four hours before finally pulling out a Texas rig and having some success. I'll figure this out...somehow...

I've gotten to where I'm using a drop shot much more often than I used to. Sometimes, the bass just want you to make it easy for them.

What’s a jig rod around 100$ that I can use for jigs drop shots and Texas rigs with bullet weights. A Baitcasting one
@SteveRogersOutdoors14 күн бұрын
That is a great question. Most often a drop shot rod will be a medium or medium light power rating while a rod for the other techniques will likely be a medium heavy. I have used a drop shot on casting rods before when using a bigger setup with heavier weights. If you want to fish really light drop shots a spinning rod is easier to cast and handle. Most brands of casting rods with a mh power rating will handle the jigs and Texas rigs well and heavy drop shot setups. I am a big fan of the Lew’s KVD series of rods. They retail around $109. I’ve got a bunch of them.

Let's not forget about the suspending jerkbait . Fished the 3 described baits the other day for 3hrs and only had hits on a yamatanuki. Switched to a jerkbait and caught a dozen in a hour

Jerkbait is so powerful. It can catch a pile quickly.
