I personally enjoy the longer videos. It’s not often you get people really going into depth with stuff like this without having to pay them first.

The way you explain things really resonates with me, I heard a lot of similar concepts running track in college. And not many people are explaining the sport of disc golf in this way.

Love it, I'm gonna make a point to watch all of your videos. It's really rare to find someone with as much athletics and exercise science background as you talking disc golf form and practice. I honestly hope you don't start making "influencer" type videos because if someone is this far down the distance rabbit hole then they're looking for as much information as possible, not simple entertainment! :) Plus the long throws speak for themselves! Respect

This was a great comment, thank you for the nice words. I really enjoy getting technical about things and it’s been refreshing to see so many folks like you liking the in depth videos! I see no reason for me to stop making them this way + more distance goal progressions in the field :) so stay tuned

Thank you for dishing out so many down to earth expert principles that so few of us would not even think about asking. This adds the extra details one needs to feel they can approach the game a way a pro would do and who doesn’t like to think that way. After just pulling a hamstring ( 1st time ever in 68 years of age ) I would love to hear your thoughts about injury / re-injury concepts.

@@bethelbarrett5867 you're very welcome, I'm just happy it's able to provide help to people! Sorry to hear about the hammy! Regarding that and recurring injuries - I've had my share over the years; I find the best approach is to have a progressive rehab of building length+strength concurrently within what is safe and healthy for the tissues, then working through a speed-based progressive return to sport.

Another great video. I would be very interested to see the videos you were talking about in the beginning. Speaking of visualisation: I used to to a lot of close combat and self-defense training in my pre-disc colf days. I had an ex-military instructor that had the visualisation down to such a level of intensity that you could see the hairs on his body stand up and his puplis dilate when he visualised combat.

Thank you for the support and feedback on the video ideas, noted on that. That's crazy how good your instructor was at immersing himself when visualizing! It reminds me of the Blue Angels' pre-demo visualization where they sit in their desk chairs with closed eyes and go through the entire routine, even down the exact radio vocal tonality and joystick movements.

He definitely glides more than the average, part of it is an individual style for his preference, and part of it is staying light on the feet (center of mass isn't bouncing up and down violently with each approach step).

@nick.krush.fitness looking forward to warm up advice. Until then, what about KB swings(35lbs) or clean and press to warm up core, hips, glures, shoulders, arms and grip? Saw a guy using a heavy club swings for shoulder warm up in a parking lot. I don't have a club, but do have a 10lb, 35lb, and 53lb kbs. Maybe 40-50 swing or 15-20 clean and press to get the heart rate up and firing the nervous system? Liked and subbed. 👍🏼
@NickKrush.DGandFit
@NickKrush.DGandFit 7 ай бұрын
Absolutely, that warmup should get your body temp up, big joints lubricated with synovial fluid, and nervous system primed to generate power so it's checking the boxes from a general standpoint! The pressing action (assuming it's relatively strict/pushed and not a full jerk) can also get a little bit of elasticity into those throwing arm tendons if you do at least 10-20 reps of it. Since you have the different KB weights, you could progress up in weight over 2-3 sets, and then go into the clean and press with a similar progression, mainly to allow the shoulder and upper back some time to progressively recruit muscles and lubricate for extra safety 👍

340+ a half year in is really good! A lot of people never even get to 350 so you are ahead of the curve. I'm not sure when my first 500ft throw was, I've played extremely sporadically for over a decade and probably had some lucky throws back when I was a teenager in my first couple years playing.
