Huge Saraceno fan David. I remember being a kid and being really into shred like Satch, Yngwie, Vai, Lynch, DeMartini. I saw Blues constantly advertised in the guitar magazines. I picked up Never Lock Back which had some great shred songs. But then I bought the Plaid Album which was killer because Blues was so focused on melody and just making catchy riffs and overall song quality.

Such an overlooked period in the history of the band. I saw the Native Tongue tour with Kotzen and it was mind blowing...but I would have loved to see Blues with them as well.

Great vid. I never heard anything by Saraceno aside from the bumper music he created for that History Channel (?) show "the Men Who Made America", which was very cool. Otherwise, he was some guy on a lot of guitar mag covers with a bunch of plaid stuff -- but he wasn't in any band, really, so I always wondered what the big deal was. One cool thing about your vids is that you give a little detail about each guitarist so that those who aren't in the know about them actually learn something. :-) Peace.

Thank you David for this lesson on this awesome player. I will never give away my 2 Blues Saraceno CD's. Loaded with smart bluesy licks he displayed immens musicality combined with technique. Kind of the same with Vito Bratta from White Lion. Both guitarists are to me in the same league.

He's no Ynwie but a unique shredder in such an untouchable way: *laughing stacks* *black Betty cover* *hula hoops* *cactus cruz* *rain in the tunnel* *carless sonata* All prove how criminally underrated he is as not only an instrumental legend but his melodies and themes are more composer esque than any of the other guys in the shrapnel label/era I'd argue! . *does this give us all a hint hint* that 3 dirty MLF licks are coming down the pipe next dave ?! Hoping that means yes haha ive been looking forward to seeing you do him justice since I found your channel a year ago man ! .
