Amazing edit and I loved that it focused on the very notable human factor in the story. Particularly the singular choice which caused everything, made by a woman absolutely broken by her entire world. The story is a tale of dread not just because it is about Aliens coming to claim Earth and how insignificant we are in comparison, but because of the humanity and what we know people would be capable of if pushed to a limit. Choosing to allow an Alien race which you have been told is evil to claim your own world because you know that it could never beat what humanity has done to you... that is just so incredibly tragic. But the tragedy isn't what makes it terrifying, it's the fact that we understand. The fact that we all know there are more people than we'd like there to be who would do just the same and the fact that most of us understand their motivations if they would. It's not just the idea of the dark unknown forces beyond that keep us awake at night. It is the fact that we know there are way more people that would do the same thing as the woman. And maybe even more so... that we instinctively understand these people are not the real villains at all...

It will probably go on...... if it does....... im going to get my damn brain blown away I mean look at the stenght this series has! It can have a propaganda but also a hope and science fact. I imagine what the Nazis would have done if they would have power over the world and communicate with them. They would have probably already had the tech in 1975 that we have right now.

Me too. I also want a series from the beggining again but this time with the nazis still in power and having power over most/all of the world. What would have happened then and what would have they commumicated with eachother. I think the nazis would have been ramping up theire science and try to counter the aliens and even get stronger also taking over theire planet and building up a base there. Imgaine that

Great edit. I haven’t read the books but the series is full of plot holes . It’s a mix and match of newer or older technology, s bit of Carl Sagan’s Contact, a bit of Metaverse/ simulation, a bit of politics with Western bias, and some rather undeveloped attempts at philosophical reflection on human nature. It started very promising then fell flat on its face- ironically, pretty much like humankind itself, in reality. I am not impressed.

A lot of the plot holes either don't exist in the books or get retroactively explained in the books this season did not adapt. The philosophy and science is also much more sophisticated in the books. If the concept intrigues you, I'd give them a shot!

@@SWFT_edits Thanks. I mean basic things. If the aliens were so technologically advanced to make people see those numbers, there would be nothing to stop them from making humans permanently stupid. Or just kill all humans and allow Earth to regenerate by the time they arrive. They are so advanced to do those little but powerful quantum thingies, but can’t not fold the time- space fabric, so they ride donkeys to take their time on a cosmic sightseeing tour before coming to Earth. Also, just because they are on spaceships does not prevent their technological advancement. Being so technologically superior and more powerful, they would not need to hide their intentions or pretend that they want to coexist. Etc.
