Still my favourite villain from this franchise, and one of my favourite villains ever. He’s not a shadowy politician, he’s not in the war for gain or for influence. He’s doing it strictly out of pure hate and nothing else. In a series where so many villains are stoic and calm on the field, having a cackling, maniacal ball of rage waging a galactic scaled war for nothing more than his own personal hatred and doing it all with sheer glee is awesome

I'm amazed by how well you managed to capture every aspect of Viktors complicated character development over the course of the show. This should be recommended to anyone who is kinda confused about the actual essence of his entire philosophical argument at the end of the series. really kinda puts things into perspective cause there is so much else going on

The Empire was built on the dream of stability, safety, and unity in the heart of the galaxy, but those at the center of the Empire could not see that this stability, safety, and unity were built on the unlimited oppression of outer Rim planets. It did not resolve the fundamental contradiction between the inner and outer rings of the galaxy, but instead used military force to suppress it. The Empire, built on a powder keg, was content with its oppressive power based on military might, arrogant and self-satisfied, even daring to skim funds and squabble for power in the military, cutting the critical shield from the Tie fighters that were urgently needed for air defense on the Imperial-class ships. The Empire rejected excellence and welcomed mediocrity, and anyone who could not fit into this evil of mediocrity would be quickly marginalized. Military commanders and governors quickly replaced the ecological niche of politicians, then launched a new round of power struggles, forcing aspiring individuals to seek other ways to liberate the outer ring planets.

One of the biggest complaints I have about Star Wars canon is that we have such a narrow perspective on what the Clone Wars were. It’s hidden in the name, Clone “Wars”, plural. We only actually see it full front on Mandalore though. The vast majority of conflicts during the Clone Wars and Seperatist Crisis were neither clones nor droids, but the multifarious peoples of the Outer Rim, long exploited by Core Worlds whose bureaucracy extracted value from them, but gave little back. Their earnest desires to solve problems diplomatically were stymied by committees and political red tape, while conditions continued to fester. When the Republic did respond, Jedi were often forced into roles as arbitrators that did not always broach the full context of situations, such as that experienced by Khalesh like General Grievous. So when the crisis began, many of these worlds desired to break away from the Republic that did little for them, and establish their own governments and coalitions, backed by local militias and fleets that had long formed the backbone of defense before the Republic had a “Grand Army”. This led to a grand scale series of proxy wars with the new CIS in competition with the Republic for influence as the political situation worsened, leading to inevitable conflict. “Diplomacy by any other means.”

A… definition of a hero is someone who is concerned about other people’s well-being, and will go out of his or her way to help them-even if there is no chance of a reward. That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero. Stan lee

As fictional as the story is, the issue is real. I only have to look at my own government in the German Bundestag. A bunch of corrupt lobbyists, greedy traitors who would sell their souls to the devil if it meant money and power, as well as insane ideologues.

Finally a great Luke tribute video. Anyways, still believe the sequels are a hot pile of garbage and there’s no way to redeem them. Luke’s story and Star Wars’ story at large was perfectly concluded at the end of Ep. VI. Prequels were the way to go, even exploring the Old Republic and the very origins of both Jedi and Sith, but Luke, and Anakin’s journey had come full circle and shouldn’t have been touched. There was the EU and everyone’s imagination for exploring further, but movies should’ve shifted their focus elsewhere. Period.
