Valerie you have definitely saved my life. I am a towboat cook on the Mississippi river. I have to come up with my own menu, making three full course meals a day along with desserts and your recipes are might go to thank you so much everything I have tried is delicious and the guys love it all.🎉❤😂

I use a lemon cake mix to make lemon cookies with white chocolate chips..they are addictive...I got the idea from a cookie I find at Dollar General...they went missing in 2020 and I'd gotten into cake mix cookies so made my own version.

If you will use a mixture of granulated sugar and oil, your cake will come out of a bundt pan every time. Coat as heavily as you can. I have been doing this 30 years. I tell my friends, and they still use flour and oil. I think they think I'm kidding them, but I am not. People are very hardheaded, and if their mama did it, they are not going to change. Another plus is you don't get those gummy spots of flour and oil on the outside of your cakes. I got this from someone who wrote into Cook's Illustrated years ago.

If you are baking chocolate cake, use Nestles Quick instead of flour. A trick my mother always used. Plus she never used oil, always butter to grease the pan.

The Kentucky Butter cake looks yummy. I've been making peach cobbler that way for years, it was a favorite recipe when I was stationed in Japan in the 90's and we didn't get much fresh fruit that we could afford. I'll have to add the brown sugar next time. I also will mix some oats into the dry cake mix and it makes it a little more like a crumble.

Don’t apologize for not using vanilla extract-turns out the fake stuff tastes better in baked goods. America’s Test Kitchen did a blind comparison, and the imitation vanilla outperformed the expensive extracts 👍🏻
