Ive spent a lifetime hunting with a .308Win, .270 Win and most recently a 6.5 Creedmoor. I doubt seriously a person could examine the wound channel of a deer taken with one of these cartridges and be assured in guessing the cartridge which was used. In my opinion, these three cartridges all perform nearly identically on deer sized game. A poorly made shot will lose game even if you shoot a 300 mag.

I prefer the 7mm08. I've had numerous people say, "the 6.5 has a flatter trajectory, the 7mm08 is a lot more expensive etc" but for me what I hunt and the fact that I don't practice with my 7mm08, it's far superior to the 6.5 . It has better penetration, is capable for all the distances I've ever killed game (including elk) and my Weatherby will put 5 shots within. 0.5 inches every single time I test it out before a hunt. I used to shoot a 30- 06 but my Weatherby is lighter with less recoil, Win win. Just my experience , they've been dropping quicker with the 7mm08 too...better bullet selection, better placement??? I don't know, just the way it's turned out for me.

I have two 6.5 CM. Tack drivers with a Norma 143 Bonded Tip. Would not hesitate taking them deer hunting. I think a lot of issues people are having with the 6.5 is bullet selection. However, as you mentioned, 7mm-08 is becoming my go to. Even having a custom rifle built in that caliber. It is the do-everything cartridge in my opinion (within acceptable ranges).

The 7mm-08 is certainly not “far superior” to the 6.5 at anything. That’s an exaggeration, without a doubt. And the fact that you don’t practice with the 7-08 and it’s your go to hunting rig seems unwise. I’d switch to the 6.5 if I were you.

@@fredrickwaldon1579the 6.5cr does make sense. it was developed as a 1000yd target round. a higher twist rate stabilizes a long bullet reducing wind drift, the variable hardest to compensate in long range. that along with low recoil makes an accurate 1000yd target round. what doesn't make sense is to make 6.5cr a go to deer cartridge. the 6.5cr could be a target gun that the wife and kids also shoot and someone could hunt with it as a multi-purpose rifle...what makes no sense is to argue about it when hopefully it's nobody's only gun

My biggest beef with the 6.5CM is how so many think it will automatically turn on God Mode for them and even make them a sandwich while they're waiting for the deer to magically go in their freezer. I keep seeing videos and reading articles about how it's so much superior to every other round ever created, or will be created in the near or distant future. Personally, I love my .308 Winchester rifle. It will consistently place 5 rounds of 150gr Core-Lokt seeds into a half inch group at 100 yards, as long as I'm on top of my game. Ammo availability makes for a lot more practice time for me. On the subject of the 6.5CM and so many lost deer, you never seem to hear about everyone losing deer to the 6.5x55, even when they use the old n' slow roundnose loads. Same with so many other rounds. You said it yourself; the 6.5CM is a fad cartridge. And I'm willing to bet boxes of Remington ammo stacked *THIS HIGH* that 99.9% of those jumping on the fad-wagon never practice with their rifles, which would lead to Stormtrooper levels of sloppy shooting. If you were to show up with a 6.5CM, none of those guides would worry one bit, because they know you have practiced extensively with your rifle, and that you will place your shot with 100% accuracy to harvest the animal clean and quick.

Agree most of these shooters are probably not practicing with their Creeds. I've hunted with the 6.5 cm for the last 5 or 6 years and I've loved it. It's the do everything pretty well rifle. I've used 243, 7mag and the 6.5 CM and will continue to go CM for deer. Now if I go for elk or bigger game then I'm probably going 7mag. It's a great round if you understand its capabilities.

I bought 6.5 creedmoor because of damaged shoulder. Discovered I could shoot a lot more without shoulder pain so I spent more time practicing. 22 deer killed and 1 lost. People try to tell me I lost a deer because it was 6.5. Yet they will let slip they have lost deer shooting 7mm mag, 308 and even 300 win mag. Placement is crucial. More practice lets me shoot better and test my equipment. Just added a 7mm-08 in the ruger as well. Muzzle brake makes it comfortable to shoot a lot and practice as well. Don't feel under gunned with either one.

One of the many good things about the 6.5 Creedmore is that it fits the standard 308 size action both in bolt guns and in AR-10. I have had many one shot kills with my Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmore and only one buck that went less than 20 yards. My daughter has also taken several with the same gun and she has actually taken even more deer with the 6.5 Grendel. I will always use my 30-06 and 25-06 but I do enjoy and have had no issues taking whitetail deer with the 6.5 Creedmore. Also I like to shoot ALOT and the PRC and the Weatherby cost a lot more, especially in factory ammo. Thanks for the great video

I like what you said about having a smaller cartridge and being accurate with it than a larger one. I’ve seen so many people with the bigger cartridges that can’t shoot them well because they’re scared of the recoil so they refuse to practice with them. I much prefer someone get a moderate cartridge that doesn’t hurt to shoot, so that they will practice with it and become proficient with it and know without a doubt that they can put the bullet where it matters every time they squeeze the trigger.

Wise words to live by. My fellow elder hunters only use 30-06 and laugh at me...but my father in law had a run away two years ago and my .350legend ar15 with good bullet and placement dropped a buck at 100yards where it stood. Made him a believer. Now we go practice shooting all year to make sure we know our guns quirks and limits. For a clean ethical kill. Nothing worse is to leave an animal wounded. So the guide can’t find deer shot with the 6.5cm but people in Europe have been killing moose with the 6.5x55 and they both have the same weight bullets running the same speed. Must be some big whitetail deer where he’s at. 🤷🏽‍♂️. Obviously I like the cm and if you are not killing whitetail with that you are not hitting em in the right spot with a good bullet. Compare that to the 50 grain 22-250 that you’re using. The cm is a way better choice than the 22-250. At least in my experience and yes I’ve used both. Use what you like they all work. I agree that one should use hunting bullets for hunting - but Ultimate Reloader as well as BackfireTV have both got great videos showing that the Hornady ELD-M is actually a very good bullet. I have also used it for hunting and took over 15 Gemsbok with it in my .308, ranging from 50m out to 300m. About as many Warthogs as well. No issues. But I would still not recommend it, since hunting bullets have a Guaranteed performance, since they are specifically designed to expand in specific way and retain a specific amount of weight. Match bullets don't have that.. they do expand and retain weight like any other cup and core bullet would, but there is no guarantee for how much or how little.

Yeah, when he said the guides hated it, made me think the guides don't actually think much about what the problem is. I bet if the .30-06 was the hotness and they were taking out a bunch of inexperienced shooters carrying .30-06 rifles, they would say the same thing. It's a pretty common theme in hunting magazines etc. Someone goes into a deer camp with a new cartridge and they guys there tell them that anything less than a 300 Win Mag isn't enough for deer hunting. I also wonder if these supposed guides are just not that good at tracking. Have they ever tracked a deer shot with bow and arrow? The 6.5 Swede has been used for decades to kill moose, the 6.5 Creed is it's ballistic twin. Put a hole in a deer's lung and you should be able to track it.

I always used a 270 for deer, and Daddy used his 30-06. He switched to a 243 years ago and it's plenty to take a deer. I wanted a shorter action lighter recoil for deer hunting and was going to get a 243 until the 6.5 Creedmoor came out. I though cool. I can use this for everything I'd hunt including elk out to what I consider ethical hunting distances with the right bullet. Copper bullets are the way to go. You can take an elk with a bow. The key is shot placement and through and through to drop their blood pressure quickly. A copper bullet in a 6.5 will easily do that. Anyway, people hate change. No wonder the Creedmoor gets no love. Anyway, there are a lot of hunters who lose deer because they are not skilled at stalking and shooting. :)

My vote goes to my Browning A bolt chambered in 280 rem. Loaded with 140 grainers. I’m going to try some of those Remington core-lokt tipped bullets on a Wyoming antelope hunt in September. It’s hard to leave my 6.5CM Browning X bolt Predator Hunter home when it shoots sub minute groups at 350 yds. with 130 grain Swift Sciroccos. Aw heck, I’ll take ‘em both.

Are those soft point bullets? If so I hated the soft points, always put the animal down, not necessarily immediately and they tended to waste a lot of meat. I switched to Hornady GMXs and they've been great. Some kind of hollow point or bonded bullet is my suggestion. Something designed to open up but not break apart. Just my two cents.

Yeah I agree, it’s worked well for us. It’s laughable that people are blaming lost deer on a cartridge, 6.5 creedmoor or otherwise. All cartridges are what they are, just cases to hold propellant. The bullets do the work. If these are guides, they should be quizzing their hunters on bullets they’re using and making them shoot paper before they hunt to confirm ability.

We have a big old 3/4 size steel buffalo at a 1 kilometre (1093 yards) at the local range. Pretty nice to ping a few rounds of that piece of steel. Groups at 100 and 200 are extraordinary. Don't think I would hunt with the 6.5 CM but for training and practice it is hard to beat.

Grew up hunting farmland in northern Michigan. One buck tag and however many farm doe permits my grandfather had left when we made it up there. If I was on the open fields I went with the .300 win mag. Always one shot and the only time I had to go very far from where it was shot was because the deer fell toward the downside of the trail and rolled to the bottom of the ravine. My dad found a .264 win mag at a pawn shop. Part of a three gun set of Winchester model 70's (looked like from one owner). Wish he had bought the other two, but water under the bridge. Lower Michigan you could not hunt with centerfire at that time, so my go to was a Winchester 1300 with rifled barrel. Open sights out of the box shot a 3 shot group under 1 1/2". But my eyesight was better back then. I also had more time to go to the range back then. Shot placement is definitely the key. Everyone we had to help track their deer didn't practice and took shots they were ill equiped to make. Don't take a shot you have not practiced! Thanks for these videos Who Tee Who. High shoulder/spine drops them in their tracks. I’ve used ELD-X, Hornady white tail hunter and Federal Trophy. I’ve since gone back to 30-06 mostly and haven’t had to do any tracking. Adam... Been dealing with a number of serious health problems on this end for a while and just wanted to congratulate you on your well deserved awards (again)... Two things... First the time you're putting into these videos is amazing and how you are able to respond to the comments with your viewer numbers is hard to believe! Just one of the things that I noticed in this video involving the charts is the drop trajectory! Across the board where shots ranged beyond 600 yards to 700 yards... the drop in that 100 yard interval was quite close to the difference in the drop between the sight in distance of 100 yards and the drop at 500 yards! Something for your viewers to think about when shooting at long range. Not to mention the issues of wind drift. It's not unlike watching the tracking feature in professional golfing when teeing off! The second thing that I mentioned in a previous text with regard to having or getting some FMJ'S for reloading the .50 BMG and a host of other calibers to use if you are reloading your Barrett or your Sako .500 Jeffrey...is that my source for them (Huntington's) is no longer in business and worse still is the fact that the Australian company that made these excellent full metal jacketed bullets burned to the ground not long ago (Woodleigh) and the last news that I had was that there was not enough left for them to recover from it! I do have a small supply of them left and don't know where the other manufacturers of dangerous game ammo are getting their fmj's in the calibers beyond .458. I would still be glad to help in any way that I can and have done extensive research and testing with a lot of the bigger stuff but have done all that and am currently working on the .416 Remington and below given it's current energy ceiling of ~ 6,000 - 6,500 ft. lbs., which is about my limit now without a muzzle brake... which I am not a fan of! Thanks for all you do and keep me advised and your powder dry! Also, sorry for the length of this...

With a 22” barrel the 6.5 creedmoor is terminal out to 200 yards with a 140 grain class bullet like the 143 eldx. Great for in the woods and short range. My range that I shoot on average is 400 yards. I use the 6.5 prc. At 400 yards it kills deer dead in its tracks. Velocity wise the 143 eldx out of 6.5 creedmoor in 22” barrel is 2530. Where the 6.5 prc out of a 26” barrel is average 2990 fps with the 143 eldx. I load my own ammunition and chrono my loads. Generally the velocity the factory gives is way off. You need to chrono the loads your shooting.

Heck I’ve killed deer with both my .270 & .300 Weatherby so I really don’t need any 6.5’s. Have talked to people who have said they'd never shoot their 270 or 308 at 300 yards at deer but immediately start shooting at deer with a 6.5 for some reason at 300-400. Lots will admit they never have practiced beyond 100, and that's just to confirm their rifle is still on from last year.

I enjoyed your video, and appreciate the work you invested in gathering the data shared. Are there any benefits to the 6.5 Creedmoor over the .270 Win? Maybe so, lets see. Recoil is the biggest difference i noticed (in my rifles). Running the numbers on my two rifles, my .270 would have 18 ft/lbs of recoil where as my 6.5cm has 13 ft/lbs. Numbers dont mean much for some people, but what this means is a 140gr .270 kicks very similar to a 150gr 30-06 but a 6.5 creedmoor has a recoil similar to a 30-30 (opinion). As a reloader, i appreciate the fact the 6.5 cm is a efficient cartridge which uses less powder than a .270 Win. Depending on your loading, the 6.5 cm may use 25-35% less powder than a .270win. When purchasing powder by the lb, being able to shoot more with the 6.5cm is a benefit. The high BC offered in the long skinny bullets of the 6.5 along with a barrel twist of 1:8 does a good job in stabilizing the 6.5 over long distances. In comparison, there are generations of .270 Wins which are limited to a 1:10 barrel twist due to the bullet designs of the day. Long skinny high BC bullets were not the fad when the .270win was first designed and such a bullet wouldnt stabilize well in a 1:10 barrel twist. What this means for for the 6.5cm is the potential for a more accurate bullet which is less affected by wind drift. Running the numbers, the wind dont affect the 270 noticably more than it does the 6.5cm, but if your comparing numbers, the 6.5 wins this comparison. For what its worth, if less powder, less recoil, superior barrel life and better wind deflection in a short-action cartridge is important to you, the 6.5 cm may be a good choice for you. In my case, i prefer a short-action rifle as it can can be slightly shorter in length, lighter, and more comfortable to pack should you need to carry it for hours on end.

I love your videos. Thanks for another great one. You made me think a lot about these cartridges and their comparisons - thanks for that. I think where we disagree on this topic is the comparisons you made and (in some ways) how you made them. I also don't think you can have this conversation without including more data like ammunition availability, ammunition cost, rifles chambered in that caliber availability, caliber recoil, and rifle's chambered in that caliber's cost as well. To drive my point home, choosing the 6.5 WBY RPM (over the 6.5CM) the WBY provides more energy, less drop, higher velocity, and less wind drift...but comes at the cost of ~50% more recoil, ammunition being substantially more difficult to find, limited manufacturers chambering rifles in the caliber, the companies manufacturing the rifles in the caliber are typically more expensive (i.e. Weatherby), limited manufacturers of the ammunition, and ammunition being substantially (+50-70%) more expensive, etc etc. One additional item - which will require us to double click on your specific comparisons using energy and drop: I think if you'd like to determine which caliber is better using those metrics, the same bullet types in similar weight-for-the-caliber should be used. For example, if you choose the 140gr Core-lokt for the 6.5CM, I think you should select the 150gr Core-lokt in the .270 because it's a relatively similar heavy-for-the-caliber comparison in the same bullet by the same manufacturer. When making that specific comparison, the data shows the .270 having 4.1" of drop at 200y with a 100y zero and the 6.5CM having 4.2" of drop at 200y with a 100y zero. The energy shows the 6.5 CM having 1613ft lbs at 200y whereas the .270 has 1588ft lbs at the same distance. When making those comparisons, I'd argue the bullets are VERY similar. This is a good video, so please dont take this as me trashing it by any means. It's your (good/sound) opinion based on the data you used to compare the rifles. My point is I think there was a missed opportunity to share a more wholistic comparison of the calibers listed. Anywho, thanks for the video. Just giving my thoughts. Have a good one!

I mean, really the 6.5 Creedmoor was just an experiment by some guys at Hornady, necking up and down their .30 Thompson Center to see what works, until guys in competition realised how good the "6.5-30 TC" really is. They weren't really thinking about the .260 Remington - there's a very good podcast by Hornady about the creation of the Creedmoor. It's a shame the .284 Win case isn't more popular - the .284 Win Improved (.284 Shehane) was just about the most popular cartridge in top tier 1000yds F-Class until they started necking up the 6.5 PRC to make the 7 PRCW. I atill think the .284 Win is one of the most balanced cartridges in terms of power, recoil and Long Range performance.

I think one of the better positive’s regarding the Creedmoor is it’s lack of recoil, a shooter is more likely to spend time practicing when he/she isn’t getting the crap pounded out of them and that should transfer over to being better at shot placement, both the PRC, and the Weatherby have more recoil, especially the Weatherby and that would definitely scare away some shooters. I’m always a 270 fan, and I would definitely say that it’s my go to caliber for hunting in my neck of the woods. You missed another 6.5 ish in your evaluation, the 26 Nosler , it’s ballistics fall somewhere in between the PRCs and the Weatherby I think and it’s definitely got more felt recoil then the Creedmoor.

I honestly think the 6.5cm is a fine cartridge for deer. I believe there are two major things that give it a bad rap. The first being bullet choice. I would guess that many of the lost deer where simply shot with target bullets. The second reason is the darn 6.5 cm fan boys. I’ve seen more young guys at the range with the Ruger American rifle in a Boyd’s stock topped off with a Vortex crossfire scope than I can count. Not that that’s a bad setup but dang.

The 6.5 is a phenomenally accurate round, I've shot 4 Pennsylvania medium size Whitetails all at roughly 200 yards or slightly less with just behind the shoulder hits with 3 different premium loads , YES THEY DIED , YES I WENT BACK TO OLD FAITHFUL the 270 Winchester with 130 gr Ballistic Tips

Exactly! Totally agree with your thoughts.Thinking Nikon Spot On was used in the making of this video. My go to. I am a ballistics checker and am quite often surprised. 6.5 Creedmore is a veery effecient round but like so many new trends the hype can blur the numbers. I prefer the .270 out of all those loads bur liking that Weatherby. Taken a number of deer with my .270. Flat, fast and hit hards. Don't know why I sold that rifle. Have .243 and 30-06 that I use or deer. .270 will fit in quite well.

I agree with most of what your saying. I feel like the 6.5cm is a little light for deer. My son hunts deer with one but he was only 8 last year he did go 3 for 3 with it luckily. I want to move him on up to the 308 but feel like hes a touch small yet so we will probably continue with the cm this season. However... My predator hunting rifle is a 6.5cm in a ar-10 configuration. It works wonders on coyotes and is flatter shooting than the 308s. We commonly take 300yd shots with ease with thermals at night. My hunting buddy uses a ar10 243 and I'm here to tell ya that thing is a laser beam and kinda wish Id went with that caliber. But if yall remember 243 ammo was incredibly hard to find a year ago so I settled. Id like to see a video comparing all short action ar style chamberings vs each other. Ya know like 6.5 grendal vs 6.5cm vs 223 vs 350 legend vs 308 ect. We all know bolt guns in long action are going to mop the floor with these ar cartridges. Thanks for all your hard work you do in these vids for us!

I bought a 6.5CM specifically to hunt northern white tails with. I rolled with 30.06 for a lot of years and didn't like the meat damage with 150-180 loads. (I wish 200gr loads were redily available) used a .243 for a while and never lost a deer, but felt that it really didn't put them down with the authority they deserved. I loved the lack of recoil though and wanted something close but stronger. I came close to buying a 7mm-08 and think it's a good cartridge, but couldn't justify it at the time. Now that I've taken a couple of large bucks @ 150 yds, I think my choice was right. They didn't "drop", but didn't go far with fully penetrating double lung shots with 130gr copper solids. Out to 250 yds, I think that 6.5CM is about the perfect compromise of hitting power, recoil, and carcass preservation.

Having the luxury of a few decades of time and experience, let me add a bit of perspective. Not much, if anything, that the Creed will do, that the .260 Remington won't do with the same parent case, and a couple of REAL old Mossbacks that the Europeans introduced, the 6.5x55 Swede and 6.5x57 Mauser, as well as the Mannlicher-Schonauer, and others that have all proven deadly on a lot more game, and on more continents. Now, to the other two rounds... I'll just say 6.5-06, and .264 Winchester Mag. Check the load data, and pay attention to barrel length! The original .264s had 26" tunes, not 24 and certainly not 22 like some data I've seen. So at 70 years old, what do I reach for? Used to be .308. The. 308 and 270. But the last 35 years or so, I started packing a nice little .257 Roberts on a VZ33 Mauser, 24 inch lightweight and a slim little piece of English walnut, and shoot anything I want to carry with a 120 gr Hornady HP.

I absolutely agree. I've lost 2 good 8 pointers. Both were using Federal Terminal Ascent in my 6.5 Creedmoor. I've also dropped bucks in their tracks using Barnes LRX ammo. That's why I want you to do a 6.5 Creedmoor test using Winchester Ballistic Silvertip 140 grain. I hunted with a 7mm Mag for 30 years. I just don't care for the recoil anymore. I'm actually thinking of buying a 7mm-08. Just to see how it performs on whitetails. Great videos!

IMO the 7mm-08 is a great caliber for deer. i use 7mm rem mag now just because im very young and dumb and dont mind the recoil. i used the 7mm-08 for a little bit and loved it. it was a weatherby vanguard compact rifle. if i didnt need money at the time i never would have sold it.

Up here in the PNW, I've had my eye on an M77 22-250 mannlicher carbine. Short, light, fast, but gotta have .24 caliber minimum for deer, sadly. 6.5 cm is not a hunting round. It answers questions hunters never asked. Thanks WTH!

I made my first long distance shot with a 270 win, so every long distance shot that I shoot regardless of calibur, will be shot from within the imprint of that first long distance shot with the 270 win, however, on that same note I didnt actually learn how to keep my head down or control recoil until I had shot my second rifle which is my 6.5 Creedmoor. I also have a 6.5 PRC but I will always remember the fun I had shooting both.Never shot an animal with the 6.5 Creedmoor but shot it the most and loved every second of it.

For me the 6.5 CM is the .380 ACP of the (ethical)hunting rifle world. Unless your physique really doesn’t allow you to shoot something more powerful, get a 3000 ft-lb cartridge like the 30-06. And if somebody flinches on a 30-06, that’s not genetics, just work it off.

@@stanleysanders9099 with a really good bullet and good shot placement a 222 Remington is enough. But life isn’t perfect, and ethical hunting means to kill as quickly as possible. So you should pick the most effective bullet cartridge rifle combo you can shoot competently.

6.5 creed is still best. It shoots with mild recoil, shoot modern BC bullet, perfect mid size game cartridge, acceptable barrel life. Affordable components, large database of hand loading information, second to 308. Large available rifle selection. If you must shoot mfg ammo you have good selection as well and not too expensive. What is there to hate on?

Shot placement is king. Train yourself up on those bing bangs. Then it's just more tools in the tool cabinet. But if you dig into it entirely 243, and 6.5 creedmore have, the same ballistics almost identical out to 800... That's when you ask yourself is your shot ethical. It can do it but is it. Dang, you have me excited for deer season. And you have been making some great stuff.!!!!

@WHO_TEE_WHO I have a 6.5 Creedmoor, and it does fine for Whitetail. Big doe, ran less than 40 yards and dropped. Shot was around 75 yards. No long range. I dont really hunt anywhere locally that I have a shot longer than 125 yards, so the 6.5 is fine for me. Now I want to get the "Next Level Up" gun. I hope to some day go on an elk hunt and want to know your opinion on next gun purchase if I only have 2 calibers with one of those being the 6.5 Creedmoor. Good video. Agreed.... Bullet placement is key. I was not a fan of the 6.5CM but after this year, I am very impressed with the 6.5 CM. My family went on a hunt to Africa and had to use the outfitters guns, since I was not going to be able to take my rifles due to the locations we were traveling before and after the Safari. My son and I used the outfitters 6.5CM and took some great animals. I harvested a nice bull Sable and Kudu. The Kudu went less than 60 yards and the Sable dropped where he stood. My son took a Warthog and Impala as well. The shots were perfect. Warthog went 40 yards and the Impala almost 100... That was shocking since the the blood trail was crazy but goes to show the resilience of that Impala.

My finding was if you want a blood trail with whitetail deer, the best round I have found so far is the Winchester Deer Season XP, at least in short range hunting distances. Last season we harvested a deer with a Federal round and the Swift Scirocco with an entrance thru the ribs and exit thru the front shoulder that did not leave a drop of blood in the fresh snow. The deer went about 75 yards and was recovered quickly due to the fresh snow and the broken front shoulder. Took a second deer with the Winchester Deer Season XP with entry thru the ribs and exit thru the front shoulder, deer went about 75 yards and left a paint trail to follow. Both deer were about 60 yards away when shot was taken.

270 for the win in longer ranges but low recoil and good performance up close makes the 6.5 good for most hunting of small to medium game. I am looking for a bolt action and a semi auto AR pattern rifle for hogs and smaller game. Those numbers look real good for that so thanks for helping me narrow my choices.

I've killed many whitetail's with my .06 Weatherby and my .35 Marlin over the past 45 years. I recently went to 6.5 Creedmoor and the reduction in recoil and weight of the rifle are super easy to shoot accurate and cart around the woods for this old body. Last year was my first deer with my new Christensen Arms 6,5 Creedmoor. He ran 35 yds . To each his own but I bought a Sako 85 Finnlight II in 6.5 creedmoor this year to try out. I have 4 grandsons to leave guns with and i may try the 6.5 PRC as my gun next year. I think these will be great youth guns and old timer guns to hunt with. Accuracy counts more than anything else.
