@cammycapital excellent points. I'm on the exact same path as you and learned over the years that the only way to learn to stick to your plan is to lose too much money from NOT following the plan. Question for you: do you risk your $750 daily risk budget on each trade? Thus if you let that trade hit SL you are done for the day. Thanks and cheers mate!
@oops-nope2 ай бұрын
@@KenMcCaleb If you set hard daily limits in the platform. max loss can be set per trade AND per day. It includes trailing drawdown, and the platform will shut me off close the trade and reject all trades until the next day. You can manually reset that if you are weak lol.

Passed my first 50k account last week on topstep with just one reset. I'm on my way to pass the second one. I'm using -500 and +2500 daily limit with stop and liquidation. It's working for as usually i only have 3 -500 days in a row. I think i should lower the upper limit to +2000. Will see how things will go. Feels good to be funded, with strict rules. Also i like forced clossing positions at the end of the day. My biggest losses with my own money was on scalping positions transformed to multi day swing trades.

@TheHeroQuest2 ай бұрын
TopStep has a 50% consistency rule so on a 50K account, 50% consistency would be $1450.00 a day. It would be wise to set your total profit to this to ensure you are meeting those rules.
@liviurosca2 ай бұрын
@@TheHeroQuest i know this rule, i made more than 6000$ in total to get approved, usually after 3 -500$ days i had one where i did 2500$. I don’t rushed to get approved faster, i just want to see what it’s working good for me.

Such an important video. Been trading seven years and only in the last couple months have I become consistently profitable. I’ve blown a lot of money doing stuff similar to what you described in #1. For a lot of people, it’s so important to FORGET about the “money you left on the table.” You never had it so you didn’t leave it anywhere. Instead focus on the money you took off the table! That’s all that matters. As silly as it sounds, I’ll have “go on take the money and run” from Steve Miller Band playing in my head and that song has made me a ton of cash. 😂😂😂 When I’m anxiously hoping price will explode in my direction but fearful it will explode against me, I’ll catch myself humming that tune and will just take the profits l, save my sanity, and move on to the next trade. 😂 ❤

@norm90692 ай бұрын
And that's the secret sauce right there, 1:1 trades. People seem to not take into account how quickly one to one hits and how often. On a 1M TF, that can be literally 2 minutes. I trade gold on the 1M using nothing but divergence, trend line and BOS. The amount of times I hit a 1:1 is ridiculous, and that's all I want. Enough to make my daily goal and then go back to sleep.

Unless risk management feature is built into your trading platform nobody should have any business trading on a daily basis.. There must be a maximum daily loss limit set for each day and this has to be built into the trading software. Even the most professional prop firms who hire and educate their own traders do NOT trust their own traders to place a stop loss on their own so this MUST be the first thing that you need to take care of, have the feature build inside the trading platform , this way you know the maximum amount of money you could potentially lose on any given day and this way you will NOT blow your account in one day , even if daily maximum loss is triggered you will still be able to come back the next day and continue to trade ..

This is so true. I usually go on tilt after I lose. I put a block after I hit my max loss and came back the next day stronger. After the block, it really made me think about how wrong I was on the trade. It made me reflect and look back at the BLOCKED chart, shaking my head on why I moved my stop-loss, knowing the trade was bad after it rejected the setup I saw.
