Thanks for the great review on Soviet lenses, I also use them and now have the Jupiter 37A, the Industar 50-2, the Volna 50mm macro, the MTO 3M5CA 500mm mirror and the Industar 26 on m39 , but I don't have the chance to try it yet due to the shutter curtain leak on my Fed 2, and I don't have a mirrorless to test it. I also used few other Soviet lenses before such as the Helios 44, but I'm not the "swirly bokeh" type person and it has low contrast I don't like it much, I also used the Mir 20M, as far as I remember it is not very sharp. I've a question, if you were to limit to 3 lenses only one in each group, superwide, standard wide and medium tele what would you pick ? Mir 20m / Mir 47 Mir 24M / Mir 1 Jupiter 37A /Jupiter 11

My tip for cheap lenses, look for cheap bodies with lenses attached. I got my clean '68 KMZ Helios 44-2 for £7 attached to a nice working Zenit B. Even if the bodies don't work it is often still worth it. However in my experience you've unlikely to find lenses outside the 50mm-135mm range.

Great tip! Lots of cheap Helioses bundled with Zenits here and there. Also a good way to pick up a Zenitar-M2S, which I've had my eye on for a while.

I've never seen a Zenitar M that has MC on it. Does that mean the regular M is single coated? Your ME1 does have MC on the name ring.

Mir 24M now seems to go for around AU$500 Have prices increased that much in only 5 months?
@SovietLensReviews Жыл бұрын
The Mir-24M price has always been quite unstable as there's not many on the market. If a few sellers put up theirs at the same time, it may go down again.

@@SovietLensReviewsThanks! Picked up a 24N from Germany for €75 (AU$ 123) including shipping so it's worth spending some time searching outside of eBay 😅
