Championship teams over come adversity. That's what makes the them champions. Clemson over came adversity being down with 3 minutes left in the game. Scored a TD. Then their defense pressured the Ohio State offense into a interception,

Bud Tommy Clemson wouldn’t have been able to overcome that if the refs hadn’t decided to change the call. Clemson also wouldn’t have been able to overcome a holding/facemask call on Chase Young, but they didn’t have to worry about it and instead got a penalty on Ohio State for a rather questionable call and ejection, where Chase Young was getting bear hugged that whole play but they didn’t want to throw the flag. This Clemson team wasn’t a true championship team like OSU was, but they got into the title game with their hand being held by officials.

OSU can still overcome this by beating Clemson the next 5 times they play them. Even if they do that 31-0 beating Clemson gave them will stick out like a sore thumb. Ohio State is 0-4 vs Clemson and 0-2 against the SEC's South Carolina. Which makes Ohio State 0-6 against the state of South Carolina. 0-2 against LSU in national championship games.

and after the game Dabo went and gave a wad of cash to the refs. wasnt hard to tell who the refs wanted to win. as someone who is not a fan of either team that officiating was terrible. that clemson player definitely had possession of the football after the catch before he fumbled and ohio state ran it in for a touchdown. the ncaa wanted clemson in the championship game for sure. after watching this and seeing just had bad the officiating was against ohio state i am glad that lsu kicked their butts. they deserved it. lets see how clemson does without their golden boy lawrence in 2021

This the was perfect example of how momentum works and also how refs rig the game. That Dobbins drop would have been ruled a TD if it were Clemson because they would have said he had possession when he crossed the goal line. That’s the problem with the rules not being crystal clear, gives wiggle room for the refs to manipulate. The “targeting” call might have been targeting according to the rules, but the refs can decide based on their own judgment as has been proven in the past. That was the softest ejection I’ve ever seen. Blatant rigging occurred starting when they called roughing the kicker. That was CLEARLY running into. They literally reviewed it and decided. Giving Clemson another chance and they score a TD. The scoop and score was clearly a TD, he took 5 steps with the ball before he was stripped, there’s no way you can watch that and decide that it wasn’t. After the game the head ref said that you can’t say it was a fumble if you watch it in real time. Um yes I can, and the ref standing 2 feet away from the play also decided it was a catch and fumble.

Sure it was textbook targeting but the way the refs have ruled it in the past they didn’t have to call it targeting they could have just made it unsportsmanlike. Roughing the kicker is when you hit the plant leg, which didn’t happen, he fell down when his kicking leg was contacted resulting in his plant leg extending and touching the defender. Even after all the bad calls, OSU still had their chance to win, but the receiver aborted the route that lead to the interception. That was the dagger. I agree there were crucial calls that were poorly called that went against OSU (targeting, fumble both were terrible calls), but at the end of the day they still had their chance at the end. Sucks to see it end that way. Good game though.

@@jakejake6210 Honestly if Fields had a healthy knee that could have easily been enough the change the outcome among numerous other things that went wrong such as Dobbins injury in the game and the highly questionable fumble TD overturn but you have to play the cards your dealt and Clemson was just able to sneak out with victory. Hopefully we get a season this year. I know everyone wants to see these teams again.

How do you know what Ohio State couldn't have done? They got a sack and got the ball back. And then some dude in Birmingham said that sack was targeting. Which led to another ticky-tak call and the momentum went the other way. And then, Ohio State managed to create a TO and scored. Probably got the momentum back on their side. And 2 seconds later. That same dude in Birmingham changed it back in Clemson's favor. I wish people played sports and stop pretending as if emotions and mental changes aren't a part of sports.

Well being a buckeye fan, we should have easily won this game. Instead of kicking field goals, should have scored touchdowns. Cant really blame the officials except the fumble returned for a touchdown that was called back. Clemson came back like i thought they would. Great game though by the buckeyes. We will see what happens this upcoming season. Hopefully we make the playoffs and play Clemson again.
