This is so cool, I have the exact same female-male pair from your video, a cobalt female and a violet factor male. Same markings and all They have three chicks right now and the feathers are starting to develop from their down feathers. 💙

Hi i don’t know how you do it you make breeding look so easy!!! I don’t know what I am doing wrong I could cry !! Xx
@budgiebreeding5 жыл бұрын
if you think it's been easy for me, you haven't looked back to 2017 breeding. it was a disaster! I had a bunch of sick birds and it took me an entire year to figure out what they were sick from, and how to treat it. then in 2018 the challenge was infertility. TONS of infertility. now things are finally going more smoothly, but there are still trials. hopefully getting new internet tomorrow and will start uploading videos again!

I had an orange budgie with red head. I bought it like that. But someone told me it isn't a real color it is painted!! But I dont think so because the shop I bought from dosent paint the budgies
@budgiebreeding5 жыл бұрын
did you pay a LOT of money for it? because if it was real, it would cost enough to buy a car. I agree that it is probably dyed. they do that to baby chickens here in the us dye them pink and green and purple. google "dyed chicks" and have a look. If it's dyed then eventually the feathers will fall out, and get replaced with normal colored feathers.
@user-rl7pd2yn8t5 жыл бұрын
@@budgiebreeding no it didn't cost alot as car price! Normal untrained budgies always cost almost 30 dirhams or less, a trained budgie costed me 35, but this orange budgie the price was 80 dirhams only. Cars costs thousands this is nothing to cars. But it look very naturaaal😥😥 and it passed away last month. You can see how it looks on my Instagram: khawlasdolls Ok I will search google for dyed chicks and compare the pictures.

What happens if you breed 2 budgies with both dominant colours? For example a male violet and a female albino.
@budgiebreeding6 жыл бұрын
albino is a recessive sex linked mutation. it can only be passed on by the male. so when the hen is an albino you can't get any albino babies unless the cock is also split to albino. they are both white based birds, so ALL chicks will be white based. the albino hen actually Does have genes for a color that are hidden by her albinism. she could be sky blue, cobalt, violet or grey. whatever she is will show up in her colored babies, mixing with dad's violet. violet can be achieved two different ways. a sky blue bird with a single dark factor and a single or double violet factor will appear violet. a sky blue bird with a double violet factor will appear violet. BUT the violet without the dark factor can't pass on violet to his offspring unless the hen also has a matching violet factor... confused yet? the fact is you can't really know what chicks will look like in advance, because you don't know what splits and recessives the pair carries. their chicks will inform you of the parents genetics when they grow their colors in.

Hi, I have a cobalt violet opaline cock which i assume that he only has 1 vio factor and i want to pair him to a spangle grey hen (with a hint of greyish green on her nape and neck area) whose parent is a yf skyblue x ino hen. Do you think i could produce some violet chicks from these pair? i've also done some research that the best option is to pair vio to a skyblue with atleast 1 dark factor. I hope i could pull out some vio chicks from these pairing, and also this video is very informative, thank you

I have 2 pure male violet budgie. If mate them with blue budgie will they produce violet offsprings?
@budgiebreeding4 жыл бұрын
if the hens are dark blue (cobalt) you will get about half violet chicks and half dark blue chicks. if the hens are sky blue then no you won't get any violets.

Can u plss say me chick colours of that voilet and blue budgies
@budgiebreeding4 жыл бұрын
they had 8 chicks in 3 nests. half were violet, the other half were blue... and one came out crested! surprise! for the record the hen is a cobalt blue. you would not get the same results with a sky blue

I want to see the violet budgie
@budgiebreeding5 жыл бұрын
the one on the right IS violet, however violet in budgies doesn't show well on camera... also this is an old video and he's not the greatest quality. try googling violet factor budgie and see if you can find some better examples.

What Will i get if breed a violet male With a Lutino female?
@budgiebreeding5 жыл бұрын
that is an excellent question. the thing about the ino mutations is that the bird actually IS a color, but the color is cloaked by the ino gene. so when you outbreed a lutino bird, the hidden color is going to reappear in the chicks... also, ino mutation is sex linked, so a hen can't pass it on to her female chicks, and can only pass it on to her sons as a split... so unless that violet cock is split to ino, you will not get any ino chicks. just a side note, if you are looking to breed for lutino or albino in the future, don't fold violet into the line because it leaves a wash of color on ino birds. So then your hen is going to throw a bunch of yellow based chicks, either greens on grey greens, unless she is split to white base in which case you could get some blues or violets. basically it's a crap shoot unless you know what's under that lutino hen's yellow

I have NO clue whats under the Lutino so i Should buy Another male?
