I live not far from the Norman creek and bikeway. That tunnel just near Cornwall street that’s also on the thumbnail, I went up and explored a little bit I didn’t go too far up though. I wouldn’t mind seeing what is actually in it further up.

One day when I get some more time, we'll delve deeper into that tunnel 👀

Business man Keith Loyd built the house. It was then sold years later to someone who just used it as a holiday home and let it go to ruin. Supposedly had a ballroom and underground car park.

I watched a video not long ago where some teens were chased off the property, I don't believe it is abandoned somehow

That’s my neck of the woods. I’ve walked this route many times. Lovely to see it from a riders view point. I’ve walked many of your routes except for the bike only sections. Have you done the Spit to Point Danger Oceanway walk/ride. Over 30km of ocean views. It then continues into NSW, which I walked to Tweed City shops but it goes further. Thanks for sharing your journey and while I’m not a bike rider (medical reasons), I’d love your thoughts on a connecting shared green bridge from your end cuppa Joe stop over to New Farm park. Which I think would be great for residents living on this side to connect with the northern part of Brisbane. I’ve raised this with the Brisbane City Council. I love getting out and exploring Brisbane and South East Queensland by foot, usually walk 10 to 15 kms everyday and on weekends can get up to 20-25km. I do go through lots of shoes.

Sounds like you're clocking up the mileage by foot... that's fantastic! I'll have to get down to do more rides down at Gold Coast to the border. I do enjoy ocean views! I def think a bridge to New Farm Park side would be great and indeed necessary, but that would be a massive project that I think currently would fall on deaf ears due to the many other infrastructure projects occurring closer to the CBD in preparation for the 2032 Games.

Hi John, Your ride 'behind the big fence" in salisbury is down from my street being Ainsworth. As you say you can cut up past my place and ride to the park at the bottom and come out at the BP Servo, but there is some fun to be had in a part of Toohey that you missed...If you take your self to HJ's where you stopped at the no entry signs, local traffic, only the elite can enter etc, you were at the base of a side street that goes up the hill from HJ parallel to Orange Grove and puts you at the base of Toohey, way before the latitude of BP. There are 3 paths to choose, all of them spit you out at the top where you cross over. Those paths are great fun, and quite a work out, most are dirt too! I had to fast forward some of your footage after this as it was my daily ride to work (Salisbury to DFO Skygate), but you did intro me to some new routes that I may check out - thanks. I like your riding attitude, and taking the opportunity to cross when its there and also safe. That park with the enscribed bench, man coming through there at night is pitch black!! One night some muppet in front of me stopped dead in the middle of the path and I almost cleaned him up. Unfortunately there are some that think those cement mixers are only there laying concrete for them, and they swear and carry on when they have to share with peds and other cyclists. I spoke assertively to the muppet, but was respectful and it all ended well. I am learning to slow down and enjoy the ride. All the best and stay safe. Tim

Ill place this comment seperate so you can delete...please get yourself a phone holder in the car, dont put it on your lap. The fine is $1200 and your rego is on the vid. I watch alot of ultralight vids, and they often talk about the ATSB using their footage as evidence against them. A cop can watch this and issue a fine basically as you have offered up evidence. Maybe edit the vid with studio editor and blur the phone and rego. More importantly is the safety, I had to push my kids clear of car whose driver was looking at her phone and ran a red left light, after doing so, the just mirror clipped me. She drove off. As cyclists we are elevated and we see it all the time and we are at risk. Anyway said my bit on that as tactfully as possible. If you cant delete put a reply, ill come back and delete this. :)

Yet another ride to ad to the list. Have done east/west and the V1north from Moss street after watching your videos. Ever thought about a bit of a group ride? I for one would be up for that.

Actually, that's a great idea. I do have a few things to share about my experiences with the bikes I have, and repairs I've had to do. Thanks for the suggestion👍👍

9:00 That mansion on the river belongs/ belonged to "Stefan". He owned a large chain of hairdressing salons and was quite a Brisbane celebrity. He had a hobby of racing speedboats and you could often see his big, pink racing boat moored at that jetty. The last I saw of the boat, it was for sale at one of the establishments on Ipswich road at Moorooka, just a couple of years ago.

Lol... I actually took a guess on that one and I said "Stefan" on the video... that was a punt as the house is pretty much pink! Wonder what happened to the guy....

Hi, mansion was actually built in the 1980s by Millionaire Keith Lloyd who then built up the Lloyd ships luxury boatbuilding through the 90s. He added the big wharf in the 90s to moor his luxury boat to show off. He held a lot of parties there. It was sold to someone else in the 2000s. I don’t think Stephan bought it as he had his rooftop penthouse at Southbank and his canal side 3 storey place at Surfers Paradise. Great video and content, it has inspired me to return back to Brisbane for some bike trails on the Southside.😀

Thanks for the info on the pink house... It's massive. Yeah, I remember Stefan had his penthouse at Southbank.

Still got the eeeb, and still run around on it... But I love the workout I get on my analogue bike doing these urban cycleways.
