I got a fun fix for the crack in the spider. Take some of those little plastic spiders. Glue them on there and make it look like they’re coming out so it can be a mother spider.

I have an idea for the big gash on the big spider. Buy a bunch of small plastic spiders and have them crawling out of the gash and crawling all over the big spider and some on the ground. Also as an option, add some hot glue gun cobwebs all over the spider too to give that really creepy feeling.

What you have put on your spider are the pedipalps, not fangs. Pedipalps are located next to the chelicerae (mouth parts that cover the fangs). In scorpions, the pedipalps are the pincers, but in spiders they are sensory organs that also play a role in reproduction. Adult male spiders have bulbous ends to their pedipalps that make it look like the spider is wearing boxing gloves. So, your spider is a female.

The spider tutorial was exactly what I was looking for this year. For bending the fingers at the joints, wrap the fingers in aluminum foil but leave the joints unwrapped. That will protect the finger bones from the heat but heat up the joints faster

I was hoping, suggested even, that when they moved they look for a place with plenty of property and additional out buildings. For storage and building their props with wooded land to create a walk/wagon ride through haunted venue😮!!! The woods might be challenging to find in Texas but I bet a property with barns or a garage or two would not be too hard to find...

This is perfect! I've done a project with my father every halloween. We create an evil scarecrow prop and add to it every year. This year we thought about making it an animatronic and you guys have been a huge inspiration. I've also decide to write a book for the backstory of this character and hopefully it's published by halloween. It's called "The Pumpkin Man"

I -really- love the pumpkin scarecrow, because that one is totally an apartment-safe project! I'm a lifelong apartment dweller, and there's definitely some restrictions on crafting that people don't think about until they run into them- like a complete lack of ventilation (no way to get adequate ventilation inside and no power outlets outside), not being able to use loud tools because of the neighbors, not being able to use spraypaint even outside because the overspray paints property that does not belong to you, etc etc. I love it when I see projects that don't involve heat guns, wood stain, and spray foam! Remember, though, fellow apartment haunters, that you can't let circumstances steal all your fun. If you can't use a heat gun to bend the fingers of a plastic skeleton, you can also cut partially through the plastic, bend the hand into place, and then use hot glue to fill in the newly created gaps. If you can't use a heat gun and plastic to corpse a skeleton, you can use glue and tissues, along with some cotton balls, to give it a corpsey texture. And, like the floating skeleton in this video, if you can't use woodstain, you CAN use acrylic paint to stain and age a plastic skeleton!

Very cool builds. Have you ever thought of making a giant cobra snake from pool noodles? I was thinking that maybe using a 12vdc washer pump from a vehicle and use that along with an infrared trigger like on overhead garage doors that turn on the lights and have that trigger the pump to make the snake spit its venom for a few seconds at kids as they walk up to your door. Mount the IR trigger along the sidewalk before the prop. Maybe have the snake coiled around a gallon or two jug of water, with the pump inside so it is hidden, but easy to refill. Then mount the nozzle from the washer unit in the snake's mouth. Those washer pumps and nozzles will shoot water a pretty good distance. Keep up the great work.
